Problem with a Kanger Mini Platinum?

Google searching did not turn up anything unless it's my search skills that suck.....

In any case, I just received two new Kanger Mini Platinums in the mail from a shop I've dealt with before.

Install freshly charged cell in the 1st one, place my Subtank Mine on it and the mod asks if it's a new coil and yes was selected. Well, I know for a fact that the coil is .6 ohms, but the Mini is reading it as .32 with the mod set to wattage mode. I tried the other Platinum unit and it reads .6 ohms. Ok.......

I make a new coil measuring 1.0 ohms and the 1st mod seems to be stuck on .32.

Thinking there is something wrong with the mod, I call the shop I got it from and they are sending me a new one on their dime.

Well, try the 1.0 coil on the 2nd mod and it reads .6....

WTF?

So now I am confused because I am using Kanthal A-1, but nowhere did I read that Kanthal A-1 doesn't work with this mod. Maybe my google-fu sucks and I missed it.

What's going on?

Everything works perfect on my sigelei 100w Plus.

Are you in TC mode or Power mode?

In power, (watt) mode.

I've never had mine ask if new atomizer. Mine reads ohms close to my other mods in power mode with kanthal coils.

If you unscrew the atomizer and then screw it back in, it asks.

I'm wondering if just happens to be that it doesn't care about displaying the correct resistance in power, (watt), mode.

I don't have any other type of wire to see what it will do with that.

I have a hard time believing that 2 units show up defective, but maybe....

Try switching from Power to TC a couple of times and see if it reads differently.

If I unscrew my STM I get the 9.99 reading and if I screw it back on I get the correct ohms. Never get the new question.

I thought the only time any tc device would prompt up new, down same coil, or whatever, was when in TC.
Never in wattage mode.
Have you done a reboot? haha.

Is the hit consistent between the two tanks on this device? Cheers.

Removing and reinstalling the tank, the mod prompts for if a new atomizer, this is in any mode.

Regardless of mode, the resistance reading is .32.

Adjusting wattage, there is a difference when taking a hit.

I am not using two different tanks, it's 2 Kanger Kboxes brand new out of the box exhibiting the same symptoms.

Just figured out something, and I think it maybe related, but neither kbox will fire if in TC mode.

Like I stated, I am beginning to wonder if the resistance displayed is just random in the wattage mode.

I suspect you are in TC mode and switching between Temp and Watt instead of switching to Power mode. But I'm not sure where my manual is to look it up.

As far I see in the manual, the unit is only in temp mode when the display shows temperature. When in "power", (watt), mode, it shows only watts.

If you're using Kanthal it won't fire in TC mode.

UPDATE:

Figured out the issue. Will post an update to further elaborate once I find out whether the issue has been addressed before or if it's a new thing.
