Problem with cartos for IBTanked

In order to save myself some pocket space, I ordered a standard 22mm tank from IBTanked to fit perfectly onto the beauty cap for my Kir Fanis evic tube. When I got the tank, it came with a regular flanged Smoktech 35mm carto. When I attached it, I naturally had a 1-2mm gap between the tank and the mod, and this caused huge airflow problems. I decided to order 35mm SR boge cartos, trying both with drilled holes and slotted. The tank now fits flush against the top of the device, however the draw is still slightly too airy and--my biggest issue--vapor production is pretty mediocre. Comparing this to my regular smoktech DCT with SR cartos (which gives me huge plumes of vapor), it's likely that I'll just keep putting the DCT back on so I get a tighter draw and more vapor.

Is this just an issue with the quality of the cartomizer itself? Or is the difference in air flow really affecting that much? I've noticed having to re-prime the cartomizer on my IBtank a lot more often, however when I do, it doesn't change how little vapor I get out of it compared to the smok cartos. (Plus, now, without the flanged bottom on the carto, I can't fiddle with my thingy or else the juice just leaks all over the inside of it.)

Are boge cartos just not that good or something?

I have Boge and Smoktech but I use the Smoktech 99% of the time on my IBTanked gear. It sits up a little but the airflow is not a problem and the vapor production is great. I do have to watch beauty rings that don't have air channels as that will kill my airflow.

On the new cartos, are they the same ohm rating as your old Smoktech?

Yes. Same 2.8-3.0 ohm resistance. I'm out of my usual all-day vape juice, so once that arrives in the mail tomorrow, I'll prime a new carto with it just to make sure my mouth isn't playing tricks on me.

It still blows my mind that the awesome people at IBTanked are selling cartomizers that don't fit their tanks all that well. I know I'm a little more aesthetic-oriented than most, but a machined cap that would fit the flanged base of the smoktech cartos would look and feel a thousand times better...
