Problem with menthol e-juice

Hello,
I am using an eleaf i80 mod (melo 4 atomizer) and vaping for the last 2 months 70 VG / 30 PG liquids at 34-39W, in a 0.5 coil and was working like charm. However yesterday I purchased a menthol/ginger/lemon 70/30 e-liquid. As I added the liquid in the previous juice (banana-chocolate) and while the old juice taste was starting to fade, the device started to produce less and less vapor, until it reached to the point where the vapor was identical to a starter cheap e-cigarette device even at high wattage. Furthermore, it started to gargle like crazy. The tank was overflooding.
I changed the coil to a new one (same - 0.5 ohm) and still the same problem! It would just not produce any clouds and gurgle like the previous coil no matter how many inhales I tried to do in any wattage. I opened it and cleaned thoroughly and put an old strawberry-kiwi juice I had and voila! In few puffs and as the menthol e-juice faded, the big clouds came back!
How can you explain this ?

vaping for the last 2 months 70 VG / 30 PG liquids... However yesterday I purchased a menthol/ginger/lemon 70/30

Just a shot in the dark but is the new one way thinner? It sounds as though it is a 50/50 blend rather than high VG

According to the OP, it is the same 70/30 ratio. If that is incorrect, less VG might be it. But...

Furthermore, it started to gargle like crazy. The tank was overflooding.

If it is flooded, that would cause less vapor. Might be your fault or a problem with the atomizer. I've only used the Melo briefly but I didn't think it was very good.

That's what I thought, I bought it from a realiable vape store and have tried all their high VG series, that was the last one left to try and that was the result, wasted money.
Well the loss of vapor plus the flooding sure sounds like high PG to me. It should be this though if thats the case

It must be a massive coincidence that it started to produce 80% less vapor when the new liquid started to get slowly in the coil and then back to normal when it started to get out and strawberry kicked in.

You also cleaned it thoroughly before you put the strawberry liquid in.

I opened it and cleaned thoroughly and put an old strawberry-kiwi juice I had and voila!

Cleaning is the best fix for a flooded tank. Sometimes, you can just vape through it without cleaning. And once the excess gets used up, it will go back to normal.

I also cleaned it thoroughly with the old coil, so I cleaned it twice. What I also noticed is that with the new coil the mint was so cool that it was nearly burning me. Is that normal for a menthol e-juice ?

Generalizations aren't meaningful. "Mint" and "menthol" are used broadly to describe many flavorings and additives. Unfortunately commercial liquids don't list the flavorings and concentrations on the labels.

Some commercial liquids are strong. Some aren't. It depends on the flavoring and the concentration. Some folks like strong menthol and some don't. Some people buy the strong stuff and only use a few drops to give another flavor a bit of a cooling effect.

I make my own so I make it however I want. Personally, I think most commercial eliquid has WAAAY too much sweetener and artificial flavor.
