Problem with my SMPL or efest batteries?

I've heard many things about efest batteries being rewraps and whatnot but I've been using two of them for probably about 4 or 5 months now and they've always worked flawlessly. I'm only using them on my smpl mod clone by amod and recently I've been getting a horrible hot button when starting a vape session. Like within a minute and it's unbearable. Only doing a .3 ohm build currently. But the main thing I'm getting at is this; I just noticed these black markings on the bottom of my batteries and the contact of the mod itself. The markings are also on the second battery not shown in the picture. I stopped using it immediately after noticing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1: how long have you been using the smpl.

2: what other batteries do you use in the smpl besides the efest

3: what topper do you use on the smpl, just the mutationx or are there others

4: are the toppers that you use on the smpl equipped with protruding centerpin or are use just shorting out your batteries

-For the same time as the batteries so 4 or 5 months now.
-I've only used these batteries
-Only the mutationx v3
-I make sure centerpin is always protruding so that's never been an issue with me

then sounds like the button/switch needs cleaning.

I don't run low ohms but on my main mech every few months i get hot button, and i just take the button apart and give it a cleaning.

Mechs need regular cleaning, I use Brasso.
Some arcing will always occur where the negative contact meets the bottom of the battery. Micro arcing can also occur within the threads. Keeping them clean will help, you can also apply some Nolox to the threads to reduce this.

Purple Efests are over-priced B or C grade rewraps of other manufacturers cells with exaggerated amp limit claims.
