Still waiting on my Aspire BVCs to arrive, so I'm using an Authentic Nautilus BDC that I ordered in error (thought I selected BVCs) from another vendor in the meantime... Despite the coil sitting in a full tank of eliquid for the last 2 days, I get one semi-decent hit and then I get burnt hits. The BDC coil that the clone was shipped with wicked better, but would tend to flood.

The Aspire coil (BTW, they fit the clone fine) is 1.6ohm and I'm using a spinner that I always start out using at it's lowest (3.3v) setting. I've tried every size air hole on the clearo and have tried dry pulling on this thing until I'm nearly blue in the face, yet I get about 1 hit that's okay and the others are burnt. I cannot remain sane on one hit every hour or so... What the heck (for lack of a more appropriate 4-letter word) is going on? Why would it not be wicking correctly? I've used this juice before in other clearos.

I am having a horrific day of vaping to begin with as my iClear 16 doesn't seem to be wicking right either (same juice ironically) and my Smoktech Aro Pyrex's coil must be building up, because that's tasting burnt, too. Aaaahhh!!!

This is my first clearo/coil of this type, so I have no experience with them. Help... :::whimper:::

Tilt upside down and back upright. If you get some airbubbles, its not saturated. Keep doing this until you have no bubbles. If you don't get any bubbles at all, it means its screwed on too tight. Screw it to the base first and then screw entire thing to the post/tank. I had been doing it differently and getting the same issues but this way even the old BDCs work well.

Now, that ^^^ I have NOT thought of doing. LOL!

As this thing is so difficult to put together with that huge silicone seal on the AFC base, I may very well have made it too tight. Would you say it may be too tight in the base or on the interior tube, or possibly both? Finicky little bugger!

For fear of flinging it in frustration and destroying it & my eGo, I thought it best not to take it with me today, so I will give it a go when I get home.

Thanks! :)

Could be, as this is the 1st coil that I've tried out of the package and I don't have anything to test the ohms with.

Wow, that's a ridiculously high failure rate though. I hope I fair better, because I probably would have had more fun burning the $10 bill that I spent on these than I am having with all of this aggravation . :?:

Ah ha, it's not just me! I stumbled upon these posts in the tank reviews section:

I'm always getting burn taste after a few draws even at the smallest hole. Have to cover the air holes and suck every after few draws. Anyone has the same problem?

even with changed coil heads ?

I've been having the same issue every once and a while with the 1,6ohm coil that comes pre installed I switched to the spare 1.8 and the problem was gone but i missed the vapor production from the lower ohm coil. I picked up a replacement 1.6 from the shop yesterday and have had the same issue again...doesn't happen every time but seems like it's having trouble rewicking itself after numerous puffs. I may just stick with the 1.8 coils as I wasn't having those issues when using it. As far as what i was vaping it with....I am vaping on itaste svd at around 3.6-3.7v or 8-9w.

Seems, for whatever reason, the 1.6 ohm coil is the culprit.
