Just received a fasttech order that contained two Pro Tanks. One of them works great but big problems with the second one. It is leaking badly. Within about 5 drags the top of the battery is full and I'm drinking juice through the mouthpiece like it was a straw. I assumed it was some problem with the atomizer so I replaced it with a new one. Same thing with the new atomizer. Also there is no resistance at all to the draw and very little vapor is produced. The one that is working well has some resistance to the draw. These were both brand new kanger atomizers so I assume they have two flavor wicks. Do i need to add another one? juice is MBV Red Hots candy flavor.

If you have had this problem please give me some help. There's only so much that can cause it to leak. Haven't had this problem with my Evods. .

I'm also having trouble with a new Protank Mini... every time I take it apart to change the battery or fill the tank it stops working.

I'm at a loss, with all the good reviews on the web for Protank I was really excited and expected something good ..... :(

hope you figure out your problem..... hell I hope we both do :)

Good luck!

The problem is the base, or rather the seal on the base. I had the same problem with a protank 2. Mine worked great for a few tanks then acted just as you describe. I tried everything. New coil, took apart and put back together, cleaned it good and nothing helped. I just got home, opened my vape mail, put the new base on and am vaping it now. No problems.

Discount Vapers normally carries them (where I got mine) but they are out of stock now. Keep checking their site from time to time or, I'm sure there are other vendors that carry them. I only got 2 cause that's all he had. Next time I place an order I'll get more. He does limit you to 5 per order which tells me others have had problems too.

I thought about trying to use heavy duty Teflon tape and may yet try that if push comes to shove.

I have more than one issue here.

First, I took the shaft off the atomizer and I don't think there were any flavor wicks at all. Everything was wet but I could clearly see the coil and could not identify any extra ends sticking out. I took two extra flavor wicks I had and put in there and the draw is much better. It hasn't stopped leaking but it slowed it down by about 90%.

Second issue is the threaded shaft in the base of the Pro Tank that screws into the battery. It's not mounted at a right angle to the base. When I screw it into the battery the Pro Tank "leans" about 15-20 degrees away from the battery. You can't even use the "beauty ring" because of the "lean". Think FastTech will replace the base?

15-20° is a lot. If you are sure that the 510 connection on your battery isn't crooked then definitely contact FT, I wouldn't even attempt to attach it to my battery if the threads weren't mounted straight.

Maybe it's not 15 or 20 deg but it is enough to see. The other Pro Tank and my Evods all sit straight on the same battery. Adding the flavor wicks seem to take care of the leaking problem. I compared the gaskets on both pro tanks and they were the same. I wish I had a harder draw but I believe I read the these are "airy".

I purchased these two Pro Tanks to handle the juices that eat tanks but these Red Hots and Lemon flavor are so weak that I think plastic would handle them fine.

Thanks for all the help. I'll be back.

Thanks for all the help. If FT won't help then I will just buy a replacement base.

If you want to tighten the draw up, some have recommended using Evod heads (good luck finding 'em though), or breaking off bits of toothpick in the bottom air holes. While it's not a perfect solution, and looks ugly as sin depending how you do it, I found you can use black electrical tape or similar to cover the same holes without it being a permanent modification. My PT1 has two channels cut into the bottom that lead to these air holes, and with the beauty ring installed, it's easy to tape them off around the ring on the exterior as well, or simply cover one side of them with a finger while you take a drag..gives the same effect and is a completely non-permanent modification if you decide you want an airier draw for a different flavor or some such.

On the Evods I use my index finger to cover up one of the holes. Pro Tank not so easy. I also received today a 7 pack of Evods from FT. They have the short stems. Are they the one you are talking about. If so, then I have 7 of them.

I'll have to try tape on the Pro Tanks. To many ways to get air to cover with your fingers.

Thanks!!

I have the 3mm wick and 32 gauge wire. I'm just waiting for some to fail so I will have some cores to build. I've rebuilt one and it is working well.

My normal inhale is kind of like trying to suck the knob off a door from across the room.

After I rebuilt my first EVOD/Protank head with 3mm silica and 32ga Kanthal and tested it out I opened up the package of extra heads that I purchased and rebuilt them all. I didn't even want to bother with stock heads anymore.

Well, the Pro Tank "dumped" the whole container of juice overnight. Glad I had it in a plastic cup. I rinsed it out and filled it up with water and took one drag. The entire contents of water gushed out the hole in the threaded connector where it screws into the battery. All 2.5 ml at once. I just entered a support ticket with FT to see if I can get it replaced.

It does appear to be authentic Tanger. It came in the black retail box with and extra atomizer and beauty ring. The chrome ring on the bottom has all the kanger identificatiion.

Just looking at it I cannot see any difference between the working one and this one. All gaskets are the same and everything looks good. I'll just have to wait and see what FT will do. If nothing, I'll have to find a new base.
