Purchase some fine grit glasspaper.
Place top of tank ring on said paper.
Rub with a circular motion.
Rinse and repeat until the ring flange stops holding the attie away from the mod.
Much as i love the Provari 2 & 2.5 they can be exasperating to use with a fixed 510 attie.....

Sounds like the ring is bottoming out on the Provari bezel and not allowing the center pin to make contact. It could be that the atty needs a center contact adjustment.

The problem is the Provari's 510 center pin isn't making contact with your tank's 510 connector.

The Provari's center pin is fixed and not adjustable, so don't try to pry it upward.

Your only choices here appear to be:
  • to adjust the tank's 510 center pin to extend out longer, as suggested by DaveP
  • sand down the tank ring, as suggested by ppeeble
  • use the tank without the tank ring

Replace the grommit which holds in the pin of the Kabuki with a grommit that is bigger/fatter. Maybe you've got other tanks sitting around which may be fitted with something like that.

Me, i've got plenty sitting around which i bought when i used to use a protank II. Got them here : Resistance Coil Insulator 10 Pack RUBBER OR SILICONE (CE Type Atty's, eg. Protank, Evod,T3 etc.)

They are quite useful. I still use them. My Zephyrus RTA's insulator perished so i just replaced it with one of these. And it works better than the original. A bigger grommit should extend the pin on your Kabuki by enough for it to make contact with the Provari centre pin.

Whether you use one of these or something else it seems to me to be your only solution.
