Okay. So I brought a standard 510 kit and some e juices but I'm not getting alot of flavor from them so I can't tell whether I like them or not. Using a standard resistance cartomizer. any thoughts?

Is there and 510 kits out there that don't make a really loud sizzling?

I'd think you've bought Boge cartomisers, which do snap, crackle and pop
when they're activated . . . Kangers don't do this if the Boge noise bothers you.

You're taste buds will be settling down post tobacco, so there's every possibility
that they are out of kilter right now Balex.

The noisy carto's mean the coil is working. Some are more quiet while others are really loud. My Visions are quiet, but a boge on its own is noisy, slap it in a tank and it quiets down a bit.
