I bought the Totally Wicked 6ml tank to go with mt Torpedo VV(that I hardly ever use). I got it last Wednesday, but have not tried it out til last night. Its a dual coil 1.5ohm 6ml tank. I read the instruction on their site, and I watched the video the other day, and again as I tried filling it last night. I removed the cartomizer, and dropped in 30 drops of e-liquid, just like the guy on the video did. I let it soak into the material for a couple minutes. I didnt see any liquid weeping out of the hole on the side of the carto, but I had added 30+ drops.

Then I put the carto part way into the tank, but not through the top o-rings, so there was still room to squirt the e-liquid into the tank itself. I added about 2.5ml of e-liquid to the tank. Then I pushed the carto all the way through the top o-rings and installed the drip tip that came with it on top of the rubber gasket piece with a hole in the center.

Then I screwed it onto first the Torpedo VV body, but I kept the voltage at around 3.4v, and I hit the battery button and started to take a hit, but I didnt hear any sizzling, and didnt get a hit at first. So I drew on it some more til I started hearing 'some' sizzling, then took a hit, and it was the nastiest taste ever! It tasted like pure, burnt cotton with no e-liquid flavor. So I tried it again, with the same results.

Then I screwed it onto the Ego battery, and even added a few more drops to the top of the inside of the carto after removing the gasket thing, and tried it again, but I was still getting 90% burnt cotton flavor with about 10% e-liquid flavor.

At that point I figured something is wrong with the carto inside the tank, and I didnt want to damage anything, so I sucked out the 2.5ml of e-liquid from the tank with a long blunt tip syringe, and just put it away and filled a regular LR carto and hit it with my Torpedo VV for a while.

Whats going wrong here, and is it something I did wrong?

dripping from the top is just about the worse way to fill a carto, takes a long time to get the juice to the coils, especially the bottom coil. Filling the carto from the bottom with a syringe really helps. Those tiny holes in the pre drilled cartos are too small as well in my opinion, I punch my own cartos with a saddle valve.

The cartos that come with those tanks are junk. if it has a flange, throw it away.

Agreed. I ordered some of the flanged prepunched Smoktech cartos and three out of five only lasted one day, the 4th is holding up. This is a real QC issue, so it looks like I'll be punching my own boges again. Only wish I hadn't ordered 15 of the flanged Smoktechs.

That white gasket with the hole in it gets thrown away before you put a drip tip on it.

I've been using these cartos in tanks for 6 months and have never burned one.

Don't put the little white doughnut back in the carto after filling it. Just the drip tip.

Switch to single coil cartos. Dual coil cartos were a good idea that didn't pan out in real life.

My personal experience with pre-drilled or pre-punched cartos is that they work as long as you are not using them with juice that is too thick or dark, such as 80-100 % vg. I use 1, 2, and 3 holed that are pre-drilled, choosing which one to use according to how thick or dark the juice is. Only juice I've issues with is Boba's Bounty 100% vg.

A nasty burnt taste means the coil was not wet or wet enough. I condom fill mine before I put it in a tank. Never had a burnt hit yet since I started doing this. I use single coil boge cartos.. you can get them xl to fit in the dctanks. I had problems with dual coils in a tank.. plus they drain batts much faster. I use a hammer and screw to punch one largish hole in mine.. easy and cheap.

I agree with Donna. I never fill by counting drops, mostly use condum method. Everybody's droppers are different size. I fill it until the carto is slushy on top by either using the condum method or just dripping even. I let it rest a few minutes, then I stick thru the tank's bottom & push it thru part way to the top. I then fill the tank up to just below the top of the partially filled carto. I push the carto up closer to the top & fill more juice until the tank is 80% or so full. I then push the carto the rest of the way in. I then check the carto & if it isn't slushy at the top, I add more juice. Put the drip top on, blow out any excess juice, stick it on your battery & vape. Easy, Peezy.
