So the last few months every once in awhile I'll go back to a carto tank, it doesn't seem to matter if I'm using dual coil or single coils either.

Ok so I have a carto filling tool and the first tank with the carto is great, good vapor, good flavor. After that though they seem to clog (lack of a better word). Like when you first open a carto, you can look right down the middle to the bottom. By the time I'm onto the second tank though, I can no longer see through the bottom and I don't get a clean hit or barely any hit at all. They aren't flooding up around the top where you put the drip tip in but they just aren't working. I've used a straight paper clip sometimes to put it through the middle and it will work but only briefly. Some of the cartos for whatever reason I can't even get the paperclip through the carto without it catching something.

Am I doing something wrong lately? Maybe something I may be overlooking. When I started vapeing I strictly used carto tanks and never had this problem. As I got away from carto tanks and back into them is when the problems really started.

If it matters the dual coils are smok and the single coils are boges and I use a 50/50 juice. Color of juice hasn't really seemed to matter. I'm having problems with the carto's regardless.

Sounds like the carto is done for. That's really poor carto life though. I've had a few from Smoktech here lately that have done the same thing. They normally work like a champ. But mine swell up with fluid, tight draw, and I end up with fluid in my mouth and they haven't had but one tankful pass through them (just like you mentioned). This has never happened prior to this last purchase. I tried everything to get them to work, blowing out the excess and what have you, but nothing worked the carto was just spent. When I first started using them they worked great but these last few I purchased just haven't held up, luck of the draw I guess. BTW I use 2-hole single coil carto's.

That is a weird one. Is it gurgling when it goes bad or is the draw just tight?

no gurgle, it crackles like it's brand new still....just really tight and no vapor, the one today has a slight slight burnt taste

went out last night, worked like a champ all night, this morning...junkie

i'd chalk it up a crappy brand or whatever but i'm getting the same results from multiple brands, no matter if i punch them myself, they are laser punched, or even slotted

OK, this is disconcerting. I would have suggested that perhaps you got a bad batch of cartos (it happens occasionally unfortunately), but you said it's happened with both Smoktech and Boge brand cartos. I'd think it even rarer to get a bad batch from two different brands simultaneously.

It shouldn't matter if the cartos are single or dual coils. Resistance shouldn't matter, either. Your 50/50 ratio juice shouldn't cause problems unless you're punching your own holes and they are too large or too many.

I don't think you have a pressure problem in the tanks, as you're using high quality tanks with the Phiniac. If the pyrex DCT tank is made by Smoktech (metal with pyrex windows), that's not a particularly high quality tank and may have lessor quality o-rings which could possibly allow some air leakage and flooding issues. If this is the case, not much can be done with that tank.

The only thing else that I can think of is perhaps your draw technique needs a little adjustment. Cartos like a long, slow draw of 4 - 6 seconds length. Not a hard short draw, which can flood a carto.

thank you for the insight....also to add that the cartos were purchased from different vendors as well, for example i have pre punched from the old triple valley that i haven't used in awhile, but also slotted from surevapes....both boges

another odd thing is you mentioned the quality of the tank, the last time i had good success with carto's was on a crappy bud tank from puresmoker haha
