Hello, recently i've started using dual coils. I am still on my first DC (I've used CE2s extensively though).

What happened was the juice started to turn brown (dual coil tank) and I decided to wash it by soaking it in hot water, shaking it till bits of gunk came out and blowing the water out by mouth. I refilled the DC immediately and it was.. fair. The juice turned brown again after a couple of days and I cleaned it for the second time but this time round the vapor production became terrible.

Now with fresh batts (running 2.5ohm off 4.8v) it can barely produce much vapor.

Is there something wrong with the way I cleaned it or are DCs simply not meant for cleaning?

Well, cartomizers in general are sold as a 1 time use device. That's all they were made for. In actuality, they last alot longer than that.

The biggest issue I see in your post is that you don't mention letting the cartomizer dry out. Water does not evaporate very quickly from a cartomizer.
Alot of people clean with PGA for that reason. I clean mine with water, then alcohol followed by an overnight dry time and then pop it in the oven at 250 for 30 mins to make sure it's good and dry.

DC Cartos are noted for changing juice color, some mixes more than others but that's normal and not a sign they need cleaning.

When the flavor starts changing or performance drops then it's time to either replace it or try and clean it. Usually the first thing that happens when I've used them is the draw starts tightening up until it's like sucking a golf ball through a garden hose.

I've never had any luck cleaning one or any filler carto for that matter. I've got them to work but never as good as they were. I usually just start over with a new one.

If you want them to last stick with your CE2s. Those are a breeze to clean over and over again and taste like new every time.
