Problems with my new Smoktech SID

Hi everyone, desperately in need of help here.

I just received my new Smoktech SID, I'm using a button top UltraFire 3000mAh, 18650 battery in it. (I've tried 2 of these).

When i read the voltage on the battery it says 4.2v which I think means fully charged. When I turn on the unit, it works fine and I can change the VV/VW function and scroll through the menu fine. But when I put a clearomiser on it (tried everything I own from Vivi Novas to iClear 16s), it seems to short out and won't fire and then the unit shuts down completely. I then have to take the battery out and pop it back in again, and the same thing happens. I haven't had 1 puff on the thing yet.

Bad battery? Or a mod I have to return? Please help!

just Googled the Battery your using and the reviews do not look good....i have a SID & these Batteries are suggested for it.....AW IMR 18650 3.7v 2000mAh or EFest IMR 18650 3.7v 2000mAh, both NON Protected.

Ok thanks, I'll try one of those batteries before contacting the retailer.

Panasonic 2900 mah IMR's also work. 10Amp limit and hybrid-unprotected
