problems with sx350

one of my sx350 gives me a problem .
is there any problems with the 35 w version ?
moved it to another mod ...and now wont fire ..and the screen stays in the dim mode .
everything else works . like up and down ..lock.. m 1 to 5..seting ..open lock..battery indicator ...all !
I tried new lg batteriys ..no go either ...disconnected the 510 still no go .
not tried the 50 watts firmware up date jet ....any ideas what to try ?

When you have an atomizer connected whats the ohms read? Do you have a ground from your 510 connector to the negative side of the battery?
If your reading 2.5ohms on your atomizer you probably have an open some where between the board and the connector
You said you can cycle through the menu so it sounds like the fire switch is functioning.

thanks for your reply...
the negative pass is all around ok when I connect the atty it reads the correct ohms..open of course it read 2.5 ohms so...normal.
other then firing and going into the bright readout mode the switch is working .
just noticed something ...the screen goes completely dark the way it sposed to but when I handle the tray where the sx350 is mounted it re ilumenates but in the dim mode without pushing the fire switch !
I am going to dig it out again and check for open or damaged wire.
on upgrading to 50 watts no luck ...the usb port wont work with it . thanks again

I think you need to get that upgrade on there. It has more features that may help you figure it out. Like short and check atomizer.
reads proper ohms hummm interesting.
go to varitube website and follow the up grade instructions there. On your 35w unit you may have to remove the battery to do the upgrade.
if moving it in its tray causes the display to light up there has to be something lose or shorting...

jes I have to do some poking ..took it out the tray and making up some alligator clip leads .then wiggle some wires probably find it .
to upgrade I have to take my computer to get fixed . the usb port wont recognize the new devive . bummer !

Hey it is normal for STUPID windows to not reconize the device! Its the yihi sxi program thats important. depending on which release you have you need to either disconnect the battery and click connect from inside the program or go to the menu on the sx-350 and goto link and lean it then link. It may tak a few attempts to get it to connect. When it doesnt connect I exit the program and try again. varitube has instructions that can explain it better than I can...

Windows will never reconize it and will complain about the drivers because its not suppose to. Its Stupid just like bill gates!

hi again tried all your sugestions the usb port works w other things so . could not find anything wrong with the board ..
just hooki now after unlocking it opens in bypass mode ! seldom I can get it back to m1 .maybe it is in the tilt switch .
I will go back to varitube site and let things sink in . I will also look if there are any updates for my motherboard before I dump my computer on on desk of best buy . my first sx350 works so nice!!

so far no luck..either on the updating or finding something on the board. I think the board might be at fault .
do you know a place to send it for checking it out and update it to see if that is the problem ?
got another sx350 into my new mod and it works nice
every thing works ..except it wont fire !!
nothing wrong with my computer.had it checked out .
