Update on my end here... Eventually it just stopped firing. Took it apart tonight and saw an arc spot on the contacts. Sanded them down on a wet stone, applied some petroleum jelly, and now it's hitting better than ever.... Temporarily I'm sure. I sure hope that our vendors who did pre orders just ship us these switches when they get em no questions asked. Gorgeous mod and I hate tearing it down to fix it.

Im having the same issues with mine (#251)

I have tried all the fixes but it only lasts a few days before the black oxidation appears on the button contact, rendering the switch useless. I have contacted the vendor and vicious ant, so we shall see...

When it works, it works great! But having to take it apart every couple days is getting frustrating. Plus the button seems to be wearing into the brass contact, which concerns me a bit...

I have #198, about to fix it this week.
How much petroleom jelly or Noalax do I use? I've never used the stuff before.
Also do I just dab the firing pin, or do I dab it on every single contact in the bottom button?

I used a big dab on a q tip... Put it on the firing pin attached to the bottom of the switch, and the flat contact that the pin touches when you fire it. If you use petroleum you'll probably need to reapply again in a week or two. I did at least. Noalox would definitely be better, and I'm pretty sure home hardware carries it here in Canada. Different name though. Can't recall off the top of my head.

Nope - no word yet.

I just sent an email requesting a shipping date and will report back with anything I hear.

Mine works great with the simple modification mentioned earlier in this thread but for those who don't chose to do that I can only imagine the level of impatience. Besides, for the money, this is probably the worst customer service I've encountered so far.

I actually got an email from them last week. They said the parts were being machined at that moment. Don't understand why they got everyone's hopes up with the switch upgrade registration before they started machining but I'm sure it's hard to deal with at least 300 emails for the existing owners asking the same question too. I'm just trying to stay positive but I imagine it will be at least another 2-3 weeks before these begin to ship

Well...apparently they've already went out. I just got the email back from them. Kind of ...... now.

"Hi idioso,

We've already sent the pins last week for all those who registered 'til January 24, 2014. But don't worry, we'll be sending more for those who weren't able to register on time, on our next shipment to the US.
Thanks for appreciating our piece, idioso! We'll update you on our next shipment. :)"

I just got a reply email too:

"Hi Karen, we've already sent the pins last week. It'll get to to you anytime soon. Really sorry for the delayed and thank you also for being patient along the process.
-VA team"

So sorry idioso! Thanks to "SutterCain" I 'registered' on the 2nd but didn't know there even was a deadline.

Terrible customer service. So much for "you get what you pay for"! They won't get my business again.

I have the same feeling. Meant to post about this earlier, there is a sticky on one of their two Facebook pages saying they were sent out. I haven't received mine yet but they've dropped the ball enough that I'm basically done with VA. I just started hearing problems with silverback switches too. They need to start doing some QC revisions obviously.
