Okay, I assume many of you have more than one adapter already. Right now I only have the 510 configuration. I'm thinking about adding another adapter to the rotation. Which one would y'all recommend?

By way of background, I have an 801 that I practically never use because the vapor it produces is thin and cold. I was loving my 510 because of the heavy vapor and aggressive throat hit. In comparison, the Prodigy gives a hit that's roughly the same as the best drags I got off the 510... but it delivers that perfect hit every time instead of every third or fourth time. I'm a little head shy about the 801 because I don't think I've ever gotten a drag out of it that I really thought was great, so I'm concerned that on the Prodigy it'll still hit cool and thin.

Thoughts? Or maybe I should just stick to the 510 setup and forget about getting a second adapter?

A switch is a given... plus (as mentioned elsewhere) a replacement end cap with knurled edges when you have them available. Right now I'm sitting on a huge glut of liquid and it seems even larger now that I don't need to hit my 510 several hundred times a day to get my fix. But it's only a matter of time before I need more.

Still, I'd like the variety of a second adapter. I like choices!

choices ain't bad ... always got to keep the options open ;) LOLOL

I am happy with my 801 ... I never use a 901 ... but do use the 510 off and on sometimes .... Still go back to my 801 day in and day out ...

If you had to decide between 801 and 901 ... 801 takes the cake ...

as far as knurled edges for end caps ... i'm gettin there ... alternate switches were the main priority outside of production, end caps will be next. Don't want to tie up machines that could otherwise be making parts for the production :)

Let us know how you like the 801 with Prodigy if you decide to get the adapter. I had the same experience with 801 (it was my first PV) as you, but was also considering trying it with Prodigy.

Will do. I think I'm going to order one next week. I love my 510 setup, but I want some additional variety.

I really love the 801 on the Prodigy.

It drips great, and when I resort to carts they hold a ton of liquid. I came to the Prodigy after using an 801 Janty Stick V1 (until it died) and a Titan 510 both, side by side, all day long. Once I tried the 801 on the Prodigy the poor Janty Stick (V2 replacement) got tossed into the corner. I haven't used the 510 on the Prodigy enough to be able to give a fair comparison, but both 801 and 510 give off prodigious clouds of great vapor. The draw on the 810 is a bit easier than the 510, and the 510 might run a tad harsher. The 801 PD is my all-day vape now. BTW, I have lots of both the 801 and 510 attys in the house, and I have never had contact with a 901.

I was in the same boat as you Surf with the 801 atty. Too light and airy for me.

I have SO totally changed my mind since getting my Prodigy about that light and airy draw when using at higher volts.

I am sitting here vaping with my Prodigy and the 801 atty at 6-7 volts and just lovin it - it's a very very smooth vape.

I'm using 2 cr123a 3.6 volt batteries. I have the resistor switch, so I'm getting 6-7 volts. It's unbelievable that I would like an 801 atty this much.

For me, the 5v option just doesn't do it with the 801 atty - but the 6-7 volts is perfect!

I'm dripping only - no carts - using 5 drops on the atty every 8-9 puffs.

My 801 attys are from bestecigs.com (BE112) and I haven't lost any at this higher volts. In fact, I'm still using the one I started with last Saturday.

It's loverly I tell ya - go for it!!

No - I haven't changed my mind about the 510 though. It's a great vape - warmer vapor with a good kick.

You mean that you're using it without a resistor, right? The switch with the resistor makes the RCR123 set output 5v.

Good post though. I'd be interested in hearing a comparison between the stock 801 and the 810 at 5v too.
