Profile pic not on my posts

I have edited my profile and changed the pic but the pic doesn't show up on my posts?

Am I doing something wrong?

Also, it is preferred that I upload my pic, or link to it? It's linked right now but I think I would rather upload it for safe keeping.

you are uploading a profile picture not an Avatar

go to setting and find edit avatar no profile picture

Some more information...

As Liscab said:

Profile pic is only visible on your profile.

Avatar is used around the forum.

You can link or upload, however, for users that don't have the picture cached, you might see an extremely small (perhaps unnoticeable) speed increase by uploading it since the request is to a local file.
