I have been a pack-and-a-half to two pack a day smoker for 30 years.
I've tried quitting several times, was actually successful for four years quite a few years back, but pretty much made everyone’s lives miserable for the short times I've been without since then.
This time is very different. Even Wifey commented on the fact that I haven't even a little bit bad tempered or nervous.
I received my RIVA 510 starter kit a week ago today. I picked it up at the PO on my way home from work, went home and unpacked it, checked out all of the conents, and read through the instructions.
Taking the advice of a friend of mine, and from reading through ECF, I had included a bunch of sample juices, some spare parts, and a passthrough in my order, so I was able to start vaping on the passthrough that same evening.
During the course of that evening, I had two analogs. On Tuesday I smoked a total of five, and on Wednesday morning, I had one, but didn't really enjoy it.
I haven't had an analog since then, but have been making it a point to have a pack and a lighter in my pocket at all times.
Until today. I actually reached for them as I was getting ready to leave for work, and thought "WTF? I haven't even had the desire to smoke since last Teusday", so I left them sitting there.
Now, I realize that I'm far from being beyond the temptation, but I felt that this was another positive step, I no longer need the comfort of that pack in my pocket.
I've got some more juice on the way, and a Joye 510 starter kit for Wifey (she still wants something that at least bears some resemblance to a cigarette), so maybe sometime in the next few months, we'll be able to get rid of all of the analogs in the house.

I bought my first PV thinking I could use it at work, but keep the analogs for at home , play. Taking an elevator down 47 floors to go have an analog at work was an indescribable PITA! (I kind of feel stupid for even admitting I would do that every hour or so!) I got my PV on a Saturday at noon, never had an analog since then. I had 5 packs of them- gave three to a buudy... kept 2 just in case. But now three weeks in, I have no desire to use them. Maybe I'll put one pack in a display box labelled "In case of Emergency... break glass".
Here's to hoping that box never gets opened!
