I made just a normal coil of about 8 wraps of 28g kanthal around a 2m drill bit. I slipped some sterile cotton down the wick and fire it and it smells so nasty. I can see the vapor but when I vape it and smell it it's just off. I've tried literally 10 different coils with various strands of cotton and it tastes so bad. Its my first time trying with the prometheus (or any auto drip), however I've used the kafyun and gotten very good results.

What I've tried:
I attatched the negative wire so it is NOT touching the positive post
Fired all of my coils to check for hotspots and see none
I've cleaned it with soap and hot water thoroughly
Tried various cottons
Primed the cotton well
.
My question is what are the typical problems that can occur through auto dripping to cause this in any genesis.
If you have a prometheus that would be great.

PLEASE HELP:ohmy:

It's tough to try to help with so little information. You say ti smells 'nasty'. I'm going to assume that means burnt. You say 'various strands of cotton', but I'm going to assume you are using cotton ball type cotton.

I believe your wick holes are 2 1/2 mm. I would make the coil on that size drill.
You need to tilt the device to help wicking. You may only need to tilt before a drag, or you may have to tilt all through the drag.
Do not put too much cotton into the coil. That will choke it, it won't perform well and if it's really too much, it can burn.

That's all I can think of. Hope this will help :thumb:
