Hello,

I came across this example of a wickless tank and thought that it is a great idea. Compared to clearomizers with wicks, I reckon that wickless is easier to maintain (more thorough clean-up, less parts) and produces a more "pure" flavor (juice doesn't have to be absorbed by fabric).

Am I incorrect to assume the above? Are there any cons to wickless systems? Are they more prone to leak?

I am considering purchasing a few of these wickless clearomizers, but would like your thoughts on their reliability/usefulness.

Thanks!!

I've used wickless clearos (CE5+ - the ones that have a replaceable wickless insert) and they work as well as my T3s or mini-Vivis... Decent vapor and taste with no leaking or etc...

The only prob I'd mention is that once the juice level gets below the lower hole in the wickless insert you've got to either refill or tilt the clearo to prevent a dry hit... Another hole, punched below the lower hole on the insert, might prevent that problem but I don't have a carto-punch at present... Have one on order and will let you all know once I get it...

The iClear30S operates on the same principle. From the pictures I've seen, it's not entirely "wickless", but they're contained inside the metal tube in the center.

If you look closely at the pic, it certainly looks like there are wicks in the center tube.

You couldn't find a better pic than that? :p

What iClear30 are you talking about? I've been using these for the last couple of months and the ones I have plainly have visible wicks hanging out from the middle stem. In fact, although I haven't counted them individually the literature states that there 16 of them.

Innokin's website is down right now. Here's a video that shows things in a better light.

I can confirm that there are indeed 16 wicks in my iClear 30's. Looking closely at the picture there are some design differences in that particular clearo.

There's a new iClear being released at the same time that the VTR is released. It's the iClear 30S.

Sitting down, facing forward.
Unless there is some "mechanism" to provide a drip action of liquid onto the coil, I think every device has wicks in some form or another. I have fillerless cartos for a Raven tank and some people seem to feel they are also wickless. But, if you look down the center, there are some wicks, or what sure as heck look like wicks down at the bottom where they appear to lead into the coil. Exactly how liquid would be guided into the coil without some form of wick is beyond me. I'm from Missouri on this, show me! Even Innokin has admitted that the wicks are inside the center tube of the iClear 30s.

My appologies to Retired. When I saw the 30s I assumed he meant "plural", and had no idea they were coming out with a new model.

WHY ARE THEY STILL USING POLYCARBONATE PLASTIC?!! This needs to be PYREX! Come on Innokin this is 2013.
