My 901 kit should be here tomorrow and my Dura carts...I ordered the Extra High juice from MVS with the intention of cutting it by half. Pros/Cons of each would be appreciated (I did search...not much in the one of one versus the other...

I want to cut the nic strength by half so do I just mix 50/50? I'll need to pick whichever I choose up tomorrow after work and I need to figure out where to buy also.

I saw someone suggest PG from a tractor supply store???? That can't be food grade..?!?

I cut and only see a pro...if you cut by 50% you just doubled your juice. I use PG and VG...havent bought from a tractor supply because i'm not near one, as long as it says USP it's OK. The VG I get from the craft store, very inexpensive. I personally cut by a 1/3 now, trying to reduce my nic level.

Just remember if you cut, you have to add flavor back in, cutting it makes it weak. I have links posted in a blog here to buy supplies and also know that www.liquidxpress.com sells all the DIY stuff too. I like loranns flavorings

Hope that helped ~ Happy Vaping!

Thanks for the response. Buying PG from a tractor supply place frightens me  I have a hard time believing anything purchased there could be safe to inhale

I don't have nor did I order any flavoring to add back in. I ordered the Menthol from MVP so hopefully even cut it will be okay. I just can't spend any more money on this until I know if I'm going to like it. The menthol doesn't have to be super strong for my taste so I'm hoping.

Do you prefer PG or VG?

I can pick either up today. I work in a doc's office which means sometime today I'll be on the phone with at least 5/6 local pharmacies....I can see who has what while I'm at it.

We don't have Tractor Supply stores around here so I don't know about them. If they carry USP PG, don't let the name of the store scare you. Perhaps they also function as a feed store in which case their reason for carrying it would be veterinary. USP PG is used as a carrier in compounding medications for humans and animal alike.

I cut with PG as well.........

If it is a pre flavored juice I will buy 24mg strength and cut it 50/50 to get to 12mg. It minimzes the flavor loss for me.

With unflavored I buy the 36mg strength and cut it with 1 part juice and 2 parts PG to still get to 12mg. Flavor loss is not an issue since there is no flavor to begin with. This is great because I am getting 3 times the juice for 1/3 the price:cool:

I use flavors from www.lorannoils.com It is nice because you can get a 1 dram sample for $1.40. Although I would advise ordering several flavors to cover the shipping cost.

www.juicyliquid.com also has some really nice juice packs and has a great rep. I order unflavored juice and other accessories from them regularly and they are great. I don't do the flavors with them because I am not into the "fruity" flavors. I am more into butterscotch, carmel, coconut, etc...........so lorann's works well for me. I never thin out the PG cut liquid, although I do know some folks who use VG do because it seems to be thicker.
Tractor Supply or Farm & Fleet (ag stores) are great to buy PG from because it is so cheap. If you want to spend more you can go to the pharmacy, but you will be buying exactly the same thing, probably from the same supplier8-o

Here is a great video about cutting juice:

Thanks for the responses. My stuff came today, I am pretty psyched. I'm not sure if batteries from MVS are pre-charged or not. I forgot to get distilled water to cut the VG with....grr...and the pre-filled carts that came with the kit I believe aren't menthol. PG is probably going to have to be ordered @ 12.99 for 16oz. I did find a small 4oz. bottle of VG at a local health food store. The front label says it's a moisturizer but the label on the back says that it's 100% pure VG and that it's USP food grade and can be used as a sweetener....hmm...that's interesting. Obviously this would be more expensive than the PG but I wanted to get something to get started...

Now I don't know if I should order the PG or wait and see how the VG works. I may check GNC and see what they have. How much distilled water do you add to thin the VG (if you do thin)....

I don't feel the need to cut the Vg with anything. It being thicker is better for me, I don't worry about it drying out in the cart and it produces more vapor then the PG. The menthol should be one of those that don't suffer much loss of flavor. Cinnamon is also like that, one drop and you can never get the taste out of that batch. The added thickness seems also to add to the ease of filling carts and is not as easy to suck through the hole. PG also gives me a sore throat and does not add the sweetness that VG does.

From what I have read, People tend to use about 10% water/90% everything else ( VG and nicotine liquid ).

Personally, I mix in enough water that the VG has about the same consistency as the e-juice. I just look at the bottle, and keep adding little amounts of water at a time, until the it looks to be about as thick as the E-juice ( look at how quickly air bubbles move. That will give you an idea as to how thick it is. )

I then take that Water and VG mixture, and add it to my e-juice. Then I take menthol crystals, and disolve them in the final mixture, So that way I still have a good strong menthol flavor.

Don't you have a problem with the cartridge not wicking the juice to the atomizers bridge? I've tried a straight 50/50 mixture, And I honestly found it to be a bit too thick. I tried it on the regular polyester material in the cartridges, Along with Coffee filters and Tea bags, and none of them seem to wick the juice to the bridge that well due to the thickness of it.

Once I started adding a bit of water to my mixture to thin it out a bit, it's working a lot better now. Though, I've only tried this current mixture on the polyester type material used in cartridges. Haven't tried it on the coffee filters or the tea bags yet.

Just wondering if you are noticing the same problems I was having.
