I just got some replacement coils for the Protank from my local B&M and after installing one and putting it on my mod I checked the resistance and it reads 2.7ohm. The coil is marked 1.8ohm and I know there is usually a little variation but never this much. I tested another and it was fine. I did a little searching and couldn't find any other info on this and was wondering if anyone else had experienced this type of inconsistency in their replacement coils?

A co-worker of mine had the same problem with coils from Kangertech, the ones in the black box, not the knock-offs in the white box. Although, I suspect they all come from the same place. I checked the resistance of a coil that he was having issues with. I used a Fluke 83 DMM that had been zeroed-out with the test leads shorted. The coil was marked as 1.8Ω, but was reading 2.5Ω. I checked the other coils in the blister pack and only of them was marked correctly. The others were all over the place; 2.1 to 2.5Ω. I guess the only way around this is to start rebuilding our own coils.
