Protank 2

Does anyone else have problems getting flavor from their Protank 2? Mines is only a few days old. It's been cleaned and dry burned. Still not getting good flavor from it. I'm using it on a Provari.

What e-liquid, what voltage, what other device do you have to compare flavor with?

After a few days the head tends to leak onto the battery; that can interfere with your voltage, but the bigger problem is usually the coil is flooded;

I'd keep mine upside down when not in use, and tilt it briefly to wet the coil when in use.

I've tried several different flavors all seem flat. Usually I vape at 3.9-4.2v. I haven't tried another device. The Provari is new.

Just replace the top silica wick with a rolled up strip of cotton...this works very will

Don't think of it as a "rebuild" think of it as a "tune up"

No haven't tried a fresh head. The wick is fine and the coils are firing just fine. It's not leaking. But I seem to get an airy vape from it. Tried an air flow adapter but it just made things worse.

when you hold it up to your ear you should hear a popping crackling sound of the eliq vaporizing on the hot coil; if the coil is too wet, it will be more of a murmuring burble with not much vapor.

Trying a fresh head will help determine whether its the head causing the issue.

I meant other toppers, how do you know the flavors seem flat? Do you have a reference carto, RDA, clearomizer?

so the eliquids taste good with the evod but not with the protank 2? Is that the situation?

I had the same issue with the protanks, so I stopped using them. I was able to coax more flavor by wrapping my own coils with cotton wicks, but I believe its the brass body and drip tip that contribute to the flavor loss.
If you enjoy the flavor of an EVOD, then maybe you would like the T3s or Aeros, which have a little more capacity. Keep your spare heads seperated though. They look identical but EVOD and T3 heads are not the same size.

Is it just the tank or the coil? You can put your pt head in your evod to find out.

The only time I get good flavor from my pro tanks is when I rebuild and use cotton wicks, getting the wicking right makes a huge difference too.

I have many kanger tanks and stock they all mute the flavor of juice IMO.

So like mentioned before Protank (especially v1) is really airy with stock coils. Learn to micro-coil them with 28g wire and cotton yarn, balls or wicks which is my preference. You will never look back except maybe to get an RBA of some type.

I can get a great tasting vape with a cheap CE4 rebuilt with a micro-coil. I actually just rebuilt a dozen GS-H2's at 1.2-3.0 ohm because the stock coils they come with are utter crap. Could not resist the price I got on 30 of these which was cheaper then buying from China directly. It has little to do with the tank and so much to do with the coil and air flow.
