Hey Eric, just wondering when you'll have the 2.5Ω replacement coils for the ProTank back in stock?? I just screwed in my last one - after getting a couple five packs of both 2.5Ωs and 1.8Ωs with my last purchase and testing each, I'm pretty sure I like the 2.5Ω coils better. Especially on my brand new eVic!!

I seem to get more vapor and thicker clouds from the higher-resistance coils, and they last longer (still only last me about 4-5 days max though). Slightly better flavor too!
..... Although 1 thing I noticed about this last (2.5Ω) coil I just screwed onto my ProTank - at first my eVic told me it was 2.9Ωs, than it said 2.7Ω and I used it for awhile, and than just now I turned off my eVic and when I turned it back on, it was showing 3Ω for my (2.5Ω??) coil!!

Highest resistance I've ever used!! Although I wasn't able to 'test' the resistance of my coils until I purchased my eVic a few days ago.. Thanks in advance!
:p

I hope you haven't tossed the old heads. You can rebuild them. It's not that hard and there are tons of videos on how to do it. They are almost identical to rebuilding vivi nova heads.

Just thought I'd throw that out there if you can't find replacements any time soon.

You can also try to dry burn them to remove any gunk that has built up on them. I usually soak them in alcohol or RO water for a while, let them dry and then do a dry burn or two. Depending on how they look, sometimes I'll soak them again. They aren't 100% afterwords, but you could get a few more days out of them.

My pro-tank and evod heads have been lasting about 2 weeks before I "clean" them...

Thank you sir, that's perfect I have another 1.8 left too.. Hey have you been getting any reports of the PT-coils not lasting very long or faulty wicks?

There are reports about protank coils not lasting, but I have not been able to replicate it.

Almost every time there is someone who reports a coil doesn't last long it's a 1.8, in my opinion, it is probably due more to people using them at a higher voltage rather than a defect. The last few times someone has asked me about it they were using a VV at or over 4.7 volts and to me, that is just too high for a 1.8 coil.

I don't claim to be an expert but a high voltage coupled with a low resistance coil is not ideal, it causes extreme heat and on a wick that might not be saturated, it can burn and burn the liquid etc.

I haven't had too many reports of the higher ohm coils not lasting so far though.

Thanks for your honest reply. :)
On my last order, I got a couple five-packs of both the 2.5s and 1.8s to see which I liked better.. They both seem to last about the same time for me (maybe a little longer for the 2.5s, but only 2 or 3 days before they start tasting burnt and give less vapor), unfortunately. I usually run all my coils at around 6-6.5watts (7 watts max but not often do I go this high), so around 4.0volts for the 2.5s and around 3.5-3.6volts for the 1.9s - not very high.. And just got the eVic a week ago so it's pretty accurate!

I seem to like the 2.5s better in terms of vapor production/thickness and flavor, and these will probably be better now that I have an APV (evic) now too. :p

As for the 'jumping-ohms' reading from my eVic, I think it was the way I screwed my ProTank on, not the coil itself. If I remember correctly, the stock coils that came with my protanks didn't last long either, for what it's worth

I use wattage mode mostly on my new eVic, always around 6-6.6watts (7w max but rarely go this high). So for the 1.8ohm coils I go to around 3.4volts, and for the 2.5s it's around 4volts-4.1 - not very high, imo.
.... My new eVic is pretty accurate too, I even set it up to a mode where it starts at 6.6watts and drops to 6 watts after 2.5seconds of dragging and down to 5.5 watts after 6 seconds - to try to make my coils last longer

Great! Ordered later last night and it was shipped today. I ordered 2 packs of PT coils (2.5) and a pack of eVod coils (2.2, 2.5s were out) - I noticed today that you just added the NEW coils that are for both PT/eVod, will I be getting these or the older version? Order #53600

you will be getting the shorter evods for the 2.2's I only have a few let, then they will all say "ProTank/evod" and be the longer.

I have bought (16) 5 packs of the 1.8 coils over the last 4 weeks. I have 5 packs left with 4 on the way to me. How much time do I get from one coil? :p Just messing with you a little but that is accurate. I switch back and forth between the ProTank and a 306 daily. I think the ProTank coils are just like any other animal, some are better than others IMO. I do agree that the heat applied to these coils makes a difference in overall life expectancy. For me, the very 1st thing to disappear is the flavor, and when it goes, it's bad. I've been running one today since this morning at about 3.5 volts. The flavor is still present but I do miss the heat. It's a trade off...Typically I'll change a coil after about every 6 hours of solid 4.0 to 4.2 volt vaping. When I get a really good one those hours are very nice!:smokie:

I have not tried the 2.5 ohm coils yet and after reading some of the comments, they will be next on my list.:toast:

By the way, I do want to mention the service, selection and prices are amazing. Truly a top notch vendor IMO. Keep it up please!
