Hey guys, I've been noticing this problem here & there since I bought my eVic a few weeks ago.. Sometimes my eVic is showing different numbers for the resistance (ohms Ω) of my coils, and sometimes these numbers get pretty crazy compared to what they're 'labeled' as..

For example, just got a eVod and a new Protank (3rd PT) - I screwed on my eVod at first and it was saying 2.5Ωs (as labeled). Than I rinsed out my eVod, Protank, and all their coils with boiling water, let them soak awhile and dry out for a few hours.. I screwed my evod back on and now it's saying odd numbers like 0.4, 0.8 ohms Ω.. I had to switch out the coil with 1 of the protank coils I soaked/rinsed because it was giving me an "Atomizer Short" message with the low-ohm evod coil.
.... Than the stock coil that came with my protank. It's also suppose to be 2.5Ω, but I'm getting readings like 4.0 ohm, 3.4, 3.2 ohms.. And the number changes everytime I take off my PT and re-screw it on, or turn my battery on. It would be more understandable if it only changed like 0.1Ω, but everytime I turn my battery on or put a device back on it's like 0.7Ω higher or lower than the last time I checked.
What gives?? I posted a thread about this before, but now it seems to be happening more often, and with more coils. I don't know what wattage/voltage to burn my coils at since my eVic is telling me a different resistance for them everytime I screw them on.. Thanks!

A smart person once said - Turn it off before switching devices.

Reading is taken as soon as eVic sees a completed circuit. i.e. (+ & - connections) of coil
Problem is if you don't have it secure the resistance is much lower and Ohms read much Higher. A quick twist install usually gets you real close. Powering on AFTER installing usually hits home.

Coils will change with cleaning but usually slightly higher until fired a few times.

As for shorted readings, I recommend a digital multimeter to test any coil with a bad reading......It just might be damaged.

Never assume - VERIFY:)

Thanks guys, crxess the resistance also changes everytime I turn my battery off/on sometimes. Doesn't happen too often though

Although I did figure out why my stock evod-coil was showing a super low resistance (0.4ohms, 0.6).. Because it IS a super low resistance!! Lol, I took of the post and removed the flavor-wicks, to find the coil was only wrapped around the wick 1 TIME!! That would explain it!
