Is one of these not legit kangertech stuff? I noticed there is no kangertech stamp on one of the boxes. 20130911_170802.jpg20130911_170830.jpg0817.jpg

Not necessarily.

My protand/evod coil boxes have the KangerTech logo on the bottom and top flap (like one of yours does), my evod coil boxes are white and don't have anything on the top or bottom flap. And neither one look exactly like the boxes you've posted (but they're legit). I think they change boxes as often as they change their mind.

I noticed my first ProTank/Evod box said Kangertech on the flaps, and on the side said "Coil Unit For ProTank & EVOD".

But the ones I just got do NOT say Kangertech - just "Coil unit for Protank Clearomizer" on the side, and the flaps say "ProTank". Like your Pic #1. And I KNOW those came from Kanger - they were DIRECT from Kanger, as part of a Co-op!

And they were probably all outsourced to the same manufacturing plant anyway... If they work, vape them! :D

I think this is how it goes...

Quite possibly right, but don't automatically assume that just because they're un boxed for shipping that they are not authentic kanger coils. Fasttech sells many OEM products as well as many clones... Typically, but not always, you can tell by whether the manufacturers name is in the product title or description... If it says "Innotech SVD" you can be pretty sure the SVD you get is actually from Innotech...

Of course there are always exceptions....

OMG!! JUST CHECKED THE UNMARKED COILS OUT!!!!!!! THEY DO NOT FIT !!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? I looked at the threads and there is an extra row or two of threads that keeps the whole thing from screwing back together. What device requires these extra threads? Why are these being sold as protank coils when they do not fit?

That sucks! If you don't want the hassle of sending them back you could try to ... a second o-ring, take the o-ring that sits just above the threads from one of your old heads and add it to the new ones and screw it down tight... Might take up the slack and allow it to work.

Might as well give it a try on the one you've already tried to use...

Just a thought...

must have been a bad batch 2 out of the 5 actually screwed all the way in

It happens... The metal parts for these things are spit put by the thousands per minute on CNC automatic Screw Machines...
At 2000 rpm it only takes a fraction of a second to put 2 extra turns on a tiny external thread...

By the time the catch the flaw, and adjust the machine, a couple of hundred may have already been manufactured... almost impossible at that point to catch them all...

I have a few that are "extra" threaded... I hang on to them, because they're damn handy for screwing onto a base post to push the center post out a bit when you have a tank with a center post that needs that particular adjustment...

Works great for both top and bottom coil tanks, but of course, you di it that way with a top coil tank unless it's empty... A bottom coil, however I can remove the current coil, screw in the long one, switch back and reassemble with a tank still full of juice almost faster than you can straighten out a paper clip!

ROFLMAO!!

Just so everyone knows , the ones that actually fit worked like ..... I have written them off :(

In the comments field during your next checkout explain what happened and how many there were and ask them to throw in some replacements...

You'll be surprised how much more responsive some vendors are when you're actually buying something at the time...

warranty replacements should never be an issue... but the real worls isn't always what it should be...

Just say'n
