ProTank has funny smell & cant get rid of. Any ideas?

Just got a new Protank & washed it out with soap & water like many say to do. It has a chemical/adhesive like smell to it & I can tell without using it yet it will translate to a funky taste.
What should I try & clean it with. Everclear or ?

I don't want to ruin it before it even get used. The smell is really strong.

Thank for any ideas.

Everclear or rubbing alcohol certainly cant hurt it you could try giving it a soak for a hour or two see what happens.

You mean soak it in Everclear or alcohol or did you mean soap & water. Do you think alcohol will degrade the adhesive [I think] that is used to put the thing together.

It actually smells like a metallic or machine oil smell... Or perhaps adhesive, I dunno but it sure is weird.

Try letting it soak in hot water with a small amount of mouth wash in the water, did that with my bad taste coils and worked good.
Just rinse good after soaking it.

I never wash any of my stuff before use But my Protanks dont smell weird so i guess fair trade. Id boil it

How are those tanks put together? Is it adhesive of some form, like silicone or something? Hate to eat away at that.

Vodka and then rinse in warm water. I do this even for when I change flavors..the menthol seems to want to stay in there and everything tastes minty.

Thanks for ideas. I just cleaned it with everclear & that seemed to get rid of most of it. Now, do I have to rinse it out with water. The everclear evaporated & there doesn't seem to be any smell but a tiny bit. Can I just fill & vape after the everclear?

Alcohol wont hurt your tank if you soaked your coil in everclear you might want to let it air dry for awhile but if you just rinsed the tank your all good.

I was having the same problem...
I found (for me) it was not coming from the coil, the head, or the liquid.
It was coming from having the tip in my mouth. I would compare it to sucking on a penny.
I cut a hole in the little rubber "condom" that came on one of my CE5s and slapped that on there. It solved the problem. I have since removed the little "condom" thingy and the taste is not there anymore. I guess it must have worked itself out.

I've heard hot water is bad for it. Can degrade the glue.
