protank head rebuilds keep shorting out?!?!

hello all

i am trying to rebuild the coil/wick on protank atomizer heads.
I followed the instructions listed in this forum and youtube and can't keep my heads from shorting.

I made sure the wire was trimmed very close to bottom of post so the negative lead is not sticking out.

it worked for a couple when i dried burn, but as soon as I insert top post the shorting resumes

I am using 32GA kanthal round wire and 2mm eckwool silica.

i also included a couple pics

any help/suggestions would be appreciated as I have tried this almost 20 times

if you take the stem off and you get a good ohm reading, the problem is your coil is probably too high in the cup. Place a pin through the coil and slide the coil back in, so the pin rests in the slots of the base, hold the pin down on the base while you reconnect it.
