protank heat problem

when vaping my protank with ego twist and 4.8 volts with a 2.4 resistance atomizer, it begins to heat up during longer hits and will actually get hot to the touch along with hot vape although its bottom coil, iv tried diff heads all the same. and its a new problem. never experienced this before and iv always vaped at 4.8. I haven't used an ohm's reader to double check the resistance but they should be around 2.4.

My protank got hot from day 1 due to my chain vaping (as do my vivi nova's and I don't even want to talk about burnt lips on cartos)
2.4 ohms at 4.8 volts is about 9.6 watts which will generate some heat with consecutive long draws
figuring the +- of .2 ohms everyone likes to use as disclaimer watts could range from 10.5 down to 8.9

I vape at 6.5 - 7.5 watts due to all my juices really taste burnt and nasty at 8 and up

Yup. My protank gets pretty warm as well. That coil sure does heats up the metal base pretty good. I wish it warmed the juice a bit more though!

Mine gets warm, not what I'd call hot, but noticeably warm. Given that the base is metal and the coils are getting hot enough to turn juice into vapor, I'd say it is to be expected.

I run mine around 9.5w and the head reads 1.9ohm gives a warmer vape for me but goes thru juice like crazy. My chain vaping has finally tapered off so don't really notice it get too hot when Im using it.

Same thing for me and my Vamo. Depending on which juice, I'm anywhere from 3.6 -this Hazelnut coffee I hate to 4.1 or so on my Menthol. @ 2.4 ohms

any hints on getting favor into a fresh tank of a different flavor ? Takes me forever to get the new flavor up the wicks and the vape sucks the whole time.

with a Pro tank at 2.4 ohms resistance u should have your voltage set between 3.9-4.2 volts.I got a chart that came with my pro tank so I'm just telling you what it says.

on my provari mini I have set it at 3.8, and it does get warm after a few hits, but definitely not hot.
