Protank Mini 2 coil rebuild disaster

Hey everyone. I rebuilt my first coil today for my Protank Mini 2. I used 32 guage Kanthal and cotton wicks and did 7 wraps on a 16 guage blunt needle. I was shooting for 2 ohms and ended up with 2.8. It fired and looked ok. I don't know what I did wrong but when I put the juice in it tasted absolutely horrible and then started leaking everywhere. I am so frustrated. Does anyone have any ideas what might have gone wrong?

Did you leave the coil on the needle to hold it while you put it together?

You may have too much cotton or not enough.

There is a thread for protank coils. Might be some tips there. My first coils didn't work well either. Takes some trial and error. At least it is cheap.

PaulBHC, Bingo!!! You nailed it. I did not leave the coil on the needle while I put it together. No wonder I had such a rough time trying to wick it. I feel sooooo stupid I'm going to try it again today and this time I WILL leave the coil on the needle.
