I have a protank, at the moment I am not happy with it. First time I used it I was getting a burnt taste, I tried both coils that came with it ( 1.8 and 2.4 ) Both did the same thing. However, even though I was getting a burnt taste it was working. So I decided to try a EVOD coil 1.8ohms. This is when the problem started. Now it doesn't work with both batteries I have ( ego c and spinner ) The battery light starts flickering and it does not work. What exactly did I do wrong and how can I fix it? From what I read on the forums, the Protank works with EVOD coils. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

I am by far not an expert,I have just bought a pro tank and am experiencing some burnt and platstic tastes with the pro tank I have not tried EVOD coils with the pro tank and not even sure if they will work (must research that on my part as you obviously have) my pro tank coil is at 2.6 ohms and im running it on a vamo at 4.1 v (3.8 volts remaining on batt charge 18650 batt) not getting a burnt taste but a plastic taste. your issue may be possibly not enough voltage on batts to fire,EVOD coil not compatible with pro tank, possible grounding of coil ,or maybe no connection with EVOD coil to battery . I couldent find any other links to the pretty much same issue Im having concerning the pro tank on the brned taste issue so I thought id post here to try to help you and hope somone would chime in on my issue.

I have since posting this trimmed the rubber /plastic cover on coil where it meets the wick cut a v notch where it meets wick still tastes a little like plastic ,possibly the burnt taste for you with pro tank coil not EVOD may have been too much voltage resulting in burning wick? when i first put juice in pro tank I put a drop on the 2 ends of wick and put a drop down the tube so coil and wick would be primed filled tank and started vape at 3.0 volts and gradually went up in voltage untill I actually tasted burnt then of course went back down in voltage . @ 2.6 ohm 4.2 volts should be max or it starts burning ,my issue going over voltage and burning may actually leave a burnt taste on coil/wick but im actually just tasting plastic well tasting juice 50/50 cinnamon and a little plastic taste im continueing with this hoping taste of plastic will go away (break in maybe ) I would try a new pro tank coil make sure your batt is fully charged prime the coil like i mentioned and start at 3 volts till taste is at preferred level .

Thank you for your response. One thing you stated made me think. You stated it could be " possible grounding of the coil " So I took it a part, made sure the coil is placed tight and still the battery light was flickering. So then I loosened up the tank a little, still same thing. Then loosened the battery a little more and then it started working. Of course I will not use the tank if I can't place securely onto the battery, but at least now I know it the coil. Thanks again.

By the way, it was doing this on both batteries, ego c and spinner
