Protank silicone ring

I'm fairly new and seemed to have lost my silicone ring on my protank. It still seems to work fine though? What does this do exactly?

The ring that rests on the atomizer? I believe that's used to prevent leaking/gurgling. I've forgot to put mine back on after cleaning and found no issues without it.

Its basically a seal to not let too much air flow in. A good replacement ring? If you know anyone who has braces ask them for a couple of bands that they use at night. Works perfectly...
