Hey guys, first post here.

Picked up a Protank 2 today at a B&M.

LOVE IT for the first few puffs.

Big clouds, excellent taste.

However, if I hold the fire button for anymore than 4-5 seconds I get that real burnt chemically taste.

I have it on my Vision Spinner turned down to 3.2V

Never experienced this with my EVOD or Mini Nova.

Any suggestions or is this just the way it is?

4 - 5 seconds? You're running the thing dry. These things aren't built for hard pulls or long pulls. (Next problem to follow: Why is it leaking...) You have to give the thing a chance for the wick to take up more liquid and the vacuum inside the tank to adjust. A constant, hard pull on the thing doesn't allow liquid to get into the wick.

as soon as you get the dry taste try taking a few puffs without pushing the power button to let the wick fill with juice.

Will do. Looking at your your location...have you found any good green chile juice yet? :p

Also are you thinking about going to Southwest Vapefest in Las Cruces...April 5th.

I tried to post it in the New Mexico sub-forum but being a new member and all don't have access yet.

no way would i drive that far just to learn about vaping....thats what this website and youtube is for! i cant stand spicy juices i almost only vape fruits through a rda.... if you want big clouds and vapor skip all the protank bs and just buy a rda and mechanical mod!
Trust me thats next on my list!
I'm going to just see more of this e-cig culture. I have only vapped with the guys working the B&Ms so I think it will be neat to openly vape with a lot of other people and hopefully find some cool or free stuff.

I take long draws with my Protank. I'm using a 2.2 ohm or higher coil. I like an 80pg/20vg mix for my liquid. I also remove the flavor wicks from the coil head. VERY rarely do I get a burnt taste. When I do, it's usually a gunked up coil, or time to change the wick.

I love my Protank.

I find with the Protank that they coil can burn easily or at very least burn the flavor wick and if that happens its over the burnt flavor will remain. make sure the coil is primed really well (inhale without pressing button numerous times) don't go over 4 volts or 9 watts and if at all possible purchase the aerotank airflow control base and use that to control your airflow. it works very well
