Hey guys, finally followed my own advice and got a couple airflow controls for my protanks, and they work great! The only problem is the threading at the bottom of them seems to be too long. I can't get either to screw into any battery I have properly. They fire and everything, they're just wobbly on there. And I don't want to force them any lower because there's resistance and I could do without pushing the pin in my mvp down too far. So... In lieu of buying a batter with spring load abilities, will a 510 to 510 adapter allow me to play around with screwing it in tighter without risking pooching the actual battery and instead only maybe screw up a 2 dollar part? Basically... since I'm kind of slow... can I screw this adapter into my mvp2 and then screw my 510 tanks into the adapter?

Namely this one...

510 to 510 Adapter

Thanks!

And sorry if the answer is obvious. I like to double and triple check before even minor purchases.

I use the beauty ring. Screw the tank/AFC down til snug then bring the ring up til it meets the AFC. This gives the support to the tank. No need to buy extra parts. Plus, the only things adding an adapter will do is make the whole setup taller and possibly add resistance (I've had adapters add .1).
HA! I figured this out just a few minutes before logging on here!

Which air flow did you get the older or newer one? I have this one KangerTech Mini Aerotank Base - Sun-Vapers San Diego the second made one and it fits perfect. A nice tight fit, not at all wobbly and great connection.
I got the V1. Picked it up at my B&M and they only had that one. My emow's have basically a giant V3 one on there and they fit perfectly too. Luckily I figured out the trick with the beauty ring as well. So that helps.

Seems like you've solved your issue, but these tank airflow controllers (NOT the actual Kanger airflow valves) work just like 510 to 510 adapters and fit nicely on an MVP with the included MVP thread cover. A lot of people use them on the iStick, but I've had good results on my MVP as well. The little added ring at the top of it can be backed off just like a thread cover and fills the gap between the 510 and the base pretty well.

My primary use though is to keep the MVP's threads and center pin in as good condition as possible (put one of these on and haven't taken it off in months). The reviews on this linked site tell the story.

Something like a 510/510 shorty extender like you linked to might help - but look a little kludgy. Almost all extenders or adapters have a floating center post of sorts in an insulator. That allows you to screw the adapter on to your MVP first and get it secure, then hope the other device - the AFC in this case - can grab the threads on the adapter better and do so without needing to force the center post in the adapter down to do it. It's worth a shot and can fix a lot of issues with problem devices that have a too long center post.

This one is an even better idea, but not a lot of places carry this one so it's out of stock often. ~> EGO to EGO 510 Atomizer Adapter : L Js E-Smokes, Electronic Cigarettes

One more solution is to use a Smok-Tank Airflow Controller (litecigusa dot net/Tank-Airflow-Controller-p/smok-tank-air-controller.htm) It only adds 1/4 inch to the height and the center pin passes on the spring load if you have a spring loaded 510 connector. The top ring screws up to the tanks base for a firm non-wobble fit.
