This post is intended to bring on the ire I am tired of hearing!!! I am tired of hearing how people are tired of ProTanks,,, I have become increasingly convinced that the majority of issues people complain about with them is the result of user error- not the tanks themselves...

I have a PT2, a PT3, and 3 mini PT2's... I have not had any real problem with ANY of them. I run the PT2 and PT3 on a Provari, the mini's on eGo twists and I've been running them for a while now. I have NEVER had what I would call a "leak" issue... do I find a dot or 2 of juice on the connection? Sure... is that a major issue? No... Do I occasionally get a burnt taste on a vape? Yes... and when I do I back off vaping for a minute or turn the voltage down 0.1 or so and then- its FINE!!! After a few fills I start to get diminished vapor/flavor- so I swap out the head, soak the used one in some vodka for an hour and repeat... I get a couple weeks out of each head...

Heres what I run:
PT2 with a 2.5 Ohm Atty at 4.8 volts
PT3 with a 2.0 Ohm atty at 4.3 volts
PT2 mini with 1.8 Ohm atty at 4.1 volts

And they vape GREAT!!!! Am I unique in this? I don't think so... I just think that complaints get a lot more play than positive experiences...

Want a great vape that has no glues or plastics that crack, stain, or leach plastic chemicals into your juice? Then get a ProTank!

I use all of them too and love them. However, to be far, for lots of people, rinsing/soaking/dry hitting isn't something they want to do. Hence, to maintain optimal performance, they would have to replace the atty every few tanks. Other tanks can last much longer with a single coil.

BTW, I assume you have used other tanks extensively too and your statement is based on comparison against other tank systems. :p

I have used a few other tanks... iClears, Aspires, Generics... and yes, the PT's have provided the best vape of any of them.

I find my ProTanks have a little trouble allowing enough juice to the coil.
I typically remove ONE bit of flavor wick.
I do NOT get flooding, or leaks.

I will say I've been finding carto-tanks working more consistently - like a ProTank on it's very best day - but I still use the ProTanks because they're EASY (and because I have a bunch of them).

I'm sure the ire you expected will follow...
:D

I've been vaping since 12/26/13 and so far the protank2 tastes the best to me. Of courses I've only tried the iclear16, (didnt take long at all to go yucky) and the kanger t3s. (muted flavor) so I don't have much to base an informed opinion on,,,, yet.

Wait, it hasnt leaked all over? Lost flavor? Burned out on you???? you must be in the minority as well!

Totally agree. PT delivers better cloud and flavor. I don't think many will argue that.
But is it as "convenient" as other tanks on maintenance? Well, those who have used PT for long time will have mixed feeling. I had my share of "..." with PT. :D
I use ProVari mini and most of times, I either "float" the tank or use airflow controller. If I screw it all the way down, air holes gets blocked off and can't vape at all. I can see stuff like this drive new people crazy since they paid for "premium" tank.
Oh, I keep my PT upside-down when it is filled with juice and not using it. Pretty common practice (I think) to prevent flooding if stored for long term.

Anyways. Yes, taste great and vape huge. But it can be a pain to maintain. Just say'n. :p

I just read about this trick and it has made a world of difference for me, YMMV, take the cup gasket on the head and turn it around, this allows more juice to the coil and I am getting a lot more flavor and vapor without burnt hits, try it you might like it. I'll add that I am going through more juice this way but the flavor and convenience of the PT is were its at for on the go!

haha. So many ways to make PT great! You can also find all kind of threads on the flavor wick. Some say to take them all out. Some leave one. Some replace it with cotton. etc. Upside down gasket. Always leave tank 1/3 or 1/2 filled. etc etc
While some people (like me) find these as more control over the performance. And others will just go :face palm: and get something simpler.

It's usually not the Protanks themselves that people seem to have a problem with, its Kanger's hit or miss heads.

And THAT is why I build my own :)

The tanks themselves have been solid. I own a v1, v2 and a v1 and v2 mini and all have worked flawless. I have not owned a v3 so no experience on those.

I stopped reading the resistance stamp on the coil all together and use ProVari to tell me what I got. I guess at $1.50, I shouldn't expect much. :D

I have used Vivi Novas/EVOD/Davide BCCs, and my FAV is the Davide, which is just like a PT! I do daily manitenance on mine, which really doesnt take much time at all! I also leave my Davide upside down overnite so the atoms last longer, and I agree, if maintained correctly, the Davide/PT work GREAT! I also love my EVODs as well! I just HATE filling them so many times a day! And they NEVER have a burnt taste! As far as the Nova goes, I hated that ... thing. I MUCH prefer bottom coils!

And I have used 1.5/1.8/2.5 and I find the 1.5s work the best in my EVOD tanks, and the 2.5s work great in my Davide.

I too have a couple PT2's. The tanks themselves are great! The problem lies in the inconsistent coils! Like others have said, I just rip out the guts immediately and replace with a micro coil and cotton wicks.. Gravy...
I also like the iClear 30B, it's dual coil but I rip its guts out too and convert it to a single micro coil..

I have no complaints with my Protank 2's other than inconsistent heads lol. Some have better flow when drawing, others just suck lol!! But, thats why Im gonna venture into rebuilding today :). All aside, I have no desire to really try other tanks, because after my research here, bottom feeders seem to be the choice for a lot of people.

I love the Protanks.. I was hesitant getting one and I really don't know why

I've never had any issues with them either. No leaking, no gurgling. I even run my protanks right down to no juice. Recently one of my buddies was complaining about his Protank 3 giving him all sorts of problems with leaking and gurgling. He gave it to me to try out and I had no problems what so ever! I read that some people, especially ones just starting out draw a bit too hard (habit from analogs) which can cause problems with the PT3. That must of have been it..

The only thing I can say is that I expected a bit more from the PT3 after watching some youtube reviews and because it's dual coil. I didn't really notice a difference between the older protanks so I'm gonna sit out this upgrade.

A side note, I just got a Kanger battery to replace some older worn out Ego's I had. I LOVE the way a mini PT2 sits flush on a kanger battery, and I like the button so much better.
