Unlike most I didn't start vaping to quit smoking and have no intentions of quitting. That said I have dropped from 2 packs a day to one pack every two weeks. I love smoking cigs, cigars, pipes and medicinal herbs through "functional art glass". Here a couple of things that vaping has taught me:

1. I'm not very good at giving up things I love, but I'm quite capable of *neglecting* things I love when something newer and just as fun come into my life.

2. Thanks to vaping, smoking is special again. At 2 PAD smoking became a chore. Just another drug delivery system, something I *had* to do to maintain my nic habit. Now smoking is something I *treat* myself with every couple of weeks. Now that I have my senses of taste and smell back they even taste good again.

It's not my intention to offend those who have given up tobacco and I wish you many years of happy vaping without analogs if that is your preference. I just wanted to see if I'm the only proud dual user on this message board.

Thanks for the reply Margate. I understand and support your desire to avoid cancer. I myself am a cancer survivor. Not lung cancer and it wasn't cigs that caused it - it was because of a prescription drug my mom took while pregnant and I'm doomed to relapse every decade or 2. I also deal with a chronic pain issue. When my VA doc once asked me if I have suicidal thoughts I replied "Yes, but I'm very passive-aggressive so my chosen method is lifestyle." ;)

Well done cutting down by so much WereBear :thumb:

When I started vaping (coming up to 7 years ago) I cut down straight away from 2 & a half packs a day to half a pack a day. A few months later I was down to 2 a day & was quite happy to stick with that. However, a couple of years ago, I thought, wouldn't it be lovely to say I'm a non smoker - so I gave up the last 2 :) lol took me a lot longer than many others but I got there eventually :D
