I bought a ProVape-1 v2.1 off of ECF classies and it just decides to stop firing every so often, fresh battery, regardless of atty or resistance (2 and 3 ohm). I thought it might be a spring or contact issue but alcohol cleaning hasn't helped. Each time it happens just popping the battery for a few seconds and back in does the trick. Thoughts? Thanks, -Magnus

I found this post on another provape thread...

(Trustfires and Ultrafires cannot handle the current draw due to their protection circuit design and the Provari's boost circuit (which I only know a small amount about). Upon an overdraw, either the battery itself or the Provari may cut off with usage, as both are designed to do so as built-in safety features. If you vape at higher wattages then this will probably happen more frequently. From what I have read, the actual power of the Trustfire is closer to around 700-800mah-ish. With a heavy load like the Provari, the LiMn cells of the AW IMR should give a similar run time to the LiCo batteries in question. Additionally, the IMR will likely give an extended service life as the IMR is better made for the task that the battery will perform with the Provari. The physical dimensions of the Trustfire may also be slightly different than the AW IMR, the latter in which the Provari is specifically designed to use. Panasonic IMR cells also seem to be golden, but as of now it seems only 18650s are available.)

That is for the Provari, not the Provape-1. The Provape-1 is an unregulated 3.7v mod with a bunch of safety features. HOWEVER, my guess would still be that the crapfire batteries are the problem.

Same problem with AWs. :-/

It's been thoroughly cleaned so I think I might have to see about sending it in. Although I bought it off Classies so maybe I'm just SOL. It was clearly barely used though so I'm sure I wasn't sold a faulty unit intentionally.

When it works though I like it. Solid.
