Las Vegas
Hi Everyone!

Let me introduce myself first. My name is SuzyQ originally from NY/NJ (diehard Giants fan) been living in Las Vegas now for 12 years and am a dealer at the most rocking casino in Vegas. I was a 1 1/2 pack- 2 pack (up to 2/1/2 when gambling or playing pool) smoker for over 20 years.

Have never really tried to quit because i really enjoyed my analogs so much! Recently discovered some major medical issues and have been told by all my doctors..it's really pretty much life or death that I stop immediately! They slapped a patch on me that day but i started to have a crazy rash and nightmares! That sucked and I had no idea how I was going to quit :( anyway..one of my nuerosurgeons gave me on ok on e cigs so I thought i would try (knowing there is no way this will work) started doing a little research and found a girl at work using one and found the B&M where she got hers and her juice..said I could go try before I buy.

The place is Pink Spot (great juices btw) and after much discussion with the very knowledgeable salesperson decided on a ecab. Was very happy leaving the store and quite satisfied for about 2 weeks..then started wondering "how can this be better?" wanted more vapor and more throat hit. Found another B&M and bought an ego..thinking it would be good enough. satisfied me all of 3 days..then had all sorts of problems, including dry hits, leakage, not enough battery life, having to refill juice constantly, etc.. Tasting leaked juice is really disgusting!

So one day at work, these two guys walk up to my blackjack table carrying what looked like two humongous sexual devices! We started talking and I found out they were veteran vapers and what they had were full sized provaris with the extended cap and a tank that looked like it held about a gallon of juice. We started talking all about vaping and all I could concentrate on was their huge thick plumes of beautiful vapor coming out! So all their mumbo jumbo about attys and cartos and clearomizers pretty much went in one ear and out the other. All I knew was that I had to have that vapor!

Did some more research when I went home, and watched some reviews of the provari on youtube. I especially loved the one by Pbusardo. I knew I had to have one. It seemed very costly but can you put a price on your health? Saw the provari mini and knew that was the one for me... I have tiny hands! I've had my provari mini for all of 4 days now, and I'm eagerly waiting on my phiniac tank, but there's still so much I don't understand. I've been pouring over this forum like a stalker, but I still don't know what combination of hardware is going to work best for me. Is it really trial and error? Do I really have to go through so many things (and money) before I find what is right for me? I would love some help from you veterans out there, especially someone in Vegas. Maybe we can meet up and discuss! Sorry this was so long, thanks for reading. Any and all help is appreciated. Happy vaping from Las Vegas! :vapor:

I'm giving you a link to this thread.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/provari/366471-thinking-about-provari-but.html

There are a couple of great videos to watch and some great info on tanks.

I used to live in Las Vegas for about ten years but I have lived up by Reno for the last 12 or 14:)

Hope you get your health issues sorted out and glad your neurosurgeon approves of ecigs. I love smoking too but the health effects were getting to be too much for me. Ecigs have been the best.

not so much trial and error as it is finding what you like best. everyone has their favorite way of vaping, what works or tastes good for me might not be what you like, and as more and more advanced delivery systems come out every week its a matter of finding YOUR perfect vape.

What i try to do is recommend people get a cheap version of a system try it out if you like it invest in a well made version, if you dont like it oh well try something else and keep that as a backup or give to someone else to get them started.

Thank you RenoLizzie will check out the site and Ty for the well wishes on my health. :)

It's really a thread where several people who are very knowledgeable helped me to understand tanks and various types of tanks, how to fill the tanks and such [and some info about variable voltage] to go on the Provari.

I like the Provari a lot and think you will be happy with it.

I got the Vivi Nova tank and I like it. It was about $15 with shipping but you get two replacement heads for three heads total with that so that makes it about $5 a head.

once i got my PV i quit using everything else. i now have 3.
just on a side note they now make after market extensions to use the full size 18650 battery in the mini. just something to keep in mind say for road trips or something when too many extra batteries might be a nuisance.
im sure the PV and carto tank will be a welcome surprise over the ecab.
good luck enjoy, and vape on.

and anything you need help with just keep asking.

Tx again Thrasher! I'm sure I'll be bugging you with a lot more questions! Btw my husband who was also a long time smoker quit the same day I did to be supportive. He is content for now with the ecab but I see him eyeing my Provari quite jealously! I think he is a little frugal and wants to use what we have for now. Think I will surprise him on his birthday with his very own Provari. :)

suzy, like you, i was a 2 packs a day smoker, sometimes even 3 when i had an ongoing programming project and would work overnight in my home office. i'm now 8 months without a cigarrette except for a single cigar i smoked two weeks ago with my new wife n ur honeymoon (and havent had the need to repeat, it was tasty though but it was my favorite brand of cigar)

anyhow, you have one of the best devices out there (i have the regular size) so you are mainly three steps away from completely being analog free.

i dont want to get too long into it, but quickly, from a fellow hardcore smoker:
- starting nicotine concentration, when i started, even 24mg/ml wouldn't do, i cut off analogs by about 50%. The first week i actually went analog free was After getting a few 36mg/ml!!! (nowadays im at 16, but that comes later, riht now your goal is to go analog free AND not craving them anymore). im Also just starting DIY with 0 mg, but my main vape is still 16.

I think that TO leave cigarettes, this is the most crucial part. Your body for now needs the nicotine

- get a flavor you really really like and vape it with said concentration, BOBA's bounty from AVE Juice and RY4 from ECBlend were the two i vaped the most. Boba's bounty helped not wanting the taste of analogs and gives you very VERY huge clouds (IT's specially famous for that)

- find the vaporizer system that works for you. no matter what type you have, at the end of the day you have liquid and a coil that heats and vaporizes it. I started with an ego-t tank system and found it ok at first but hated the leaks, then went with cartomizers & cartomizers on tanks for some time (for some time, bought $150 in all, have about 25 left around)

nowadays im onto a more advanced type of system i doubt you want to get into right now, you need to be a hobbist to really get the most out of it as it required lots of practice and trial and error

so let me suggest the second best system i found as it's very simple and certainly give a better taste than cartos: get some Vivi novas v2.5
cheap, easy to use, replaceable heads whic are also cheap. you can find these system for less than $10 bucks, three replacements heads included, if you look around (vaporjoes.com has a link to a deal right now, but i prefer the clear tanks)

only thing about all these, BOBA's is VERY thick, 100% VG. juices like this may have a problem on a vivi nova. i have gotten the most out pure VG juices from atomizers. but any juice with 30% PG or higher are fine with ViVi novas

i hope that helps, i too was a smoker for 16 years, very heavy one from the beginning, and i also never ought i could quit (i kept saying i had just quit quitting)

Finding a couple of great juices that you don't mind using all day is just as important as the battery device, if not more.

I recommend choosing a few e-juice companies that primarily deal with making their own e-liquids. Most of the all-everthing vendors make the majority of their sales with mechanical gear, so their focus isn't on juice. If an e-juice vendor doesn't make great liquids, they won't be in business long. Make sense?

Once you have a few juice companies in mind, order a couple of sampler packs from them. This is a cheaper way to try out a companies goods, so you don't waste money on larger bottles that you may not care for. Once you find one or two that you like, order more in larger bottles. You generally get to choose the flavors you want to include in these sampler packs.

I don't drip on an atty, often the preferred way to test out flavors. I use ce2/ce3's. These are cartomizer-sized juice delivery devices that can be re-used. About $9 for a 5 pack. Cartomizers aren't very pratical to test flavors in because they retain the previous flavor.

Thanks Bad. I love PinkSpot here in town they make all their juices in house. I go and try out their flavours then order them online cause they are on the completely opposite side of town as me. I've mainly been using one flavour (subzero) menthol tobacco but am ready to venture out now into the wonderful huge array of options out there. Happy vaping from Las Vegas! :)
