I joined this forum a long time ago and was able to kick the smoking habit with the help of an e-cig. I tapered my nicotine to 0 mg then quit vaping all together. I've had a lot of stress in my life this past year and found myself picking up an analog here and there. Well I didn't want to start that nasty habit again so I pulled out my trusty egos and simple box mod that I had purchased when I was heavily into vaping. Well neither really hit the sweet spot for me so I did a little research and decided to purchase the K100....still not where I want to be. My question to you all is should I purchase the MVP or the Provari? I know if I'm not happy with the MVP then I'll purchase the Provari.

You can't go wrong with either.

I would say, purchase the MVP first. It produces a high quality vape and is well built and best of all, inexpensive. If you wear your MVP out, you're vested, then purchase the ProVari. Then purchase another MVP to bring with you where you wouldn't want to take your ProVari out of fear of losing it.

These are 2 completely different mods. If variable wattage is important to you, then you don't have any option other than the MVP. The Provari is ONLY variable voltage. If durability and consistency are important, then likely the Provari is the better option, these are it's strongest points.

Finally, if cost is an issue, then the MVP is the better choice, you can get 4 of these (maybe 5) for the cost of a single Provari. Either one should serve you well, there are a lot of folks that love them both.

I realize that these are two different type of mods but I've seen these two mods compared a lot. It seems that eventhough the Provari is not a VW most seem to think that it is better in performance. I'm looking for better taste and durability. I don't want to keep buying different mods. I want to get a really good one that will last. How long on average do the MVPs seem to last?

I'd say just go for the provari if your looking for quality. Although this is not really comparing apples to apples. You will spend more money after the provari because you need quality batteries and charger. At least if your goal is long term you can replace the batteries in a provari and can't on the MVP, once it's dead throw it away. Even though the mvp has excellent battery life and can be used as a pass through with the provari you can just swap batts and go. They are both built well and I have dropped both before and there fine. You will not notice a difference in the vape however, I can't anyways.

You did great going from smoking to vaping then quitting vaping. You should be very proud of yourself. So now it's back to vaping for you. My advise is buy the MVP 2 for $40.00 and save the money you would have spent on a Provari. You already proved you can quit smoking and vaping. I'm betting you can do it again.

Much agree here. MVP v2.0 is a great mod, and I've heard one of the few that delivers as consistent of a vape as the Provari. I use mine ALL the time.

It should be noted though that much, if not most, of the satisfaction you get from a great vape comes from your topper. Coil, wick, airflow, and juice can have a huge impact on it.

For example, I pretty much refuse to use my Protanks anymore. They just don't deliver the satisfying TH, flavor, and vapor that I get from my RDAs. So at least consider the possibility that you might need an upgrade in this area first.

Thanks Brandon. I already have some AW IMR 18650 batteries and a trustfire charger that I use with my K100. I like your provari. It looks nice. I'm really liking the red one. Choices, choices....sigh.

Probably a little over a year (300-500 charge cycles)

My main objection to the MVP is I choose what quality of battery I use in a Provari, Innoken choose what quality of battery they put in the MVP. Do you know if the MVP has an IMR battery in it, or an ICR, or a Lipo cell perhaps?

    It's a LIPO.

Grimm Green has his MVP v1.0 for ... 2 years? Was still working last time he mentioned it in a video, but he uses the v2.0 now.

Okay, so the durability can be argued all day long, but one important fact that has been overlooked so far is the "taste" aspect you mentioned. This has very little to do with the mod (it does have some based on the adjustability of the device), and more to do with the tank you put on it.

^^This. While I've not much (ok, no) experience with high end mods, there's something to be said about having an inexpensive, yet still quality, APV like the MVP for out-and-about. I'm sure it would break your heart (I know mine would be) if something special like a Provari was lost/stolen/forgotten somewhere.

Ok, I'm an enabler--get both (if you can afford it). Or start with the MVP and invest the rest of your money and time into rebuilding the best topper you can. My brother (with extensive vape/rebuilding experience) also has an MVP (as do I), and whatever he does with his tanks (carto tank setup, I think?)--man oh man, does that thing rock the tasty vapes!

    Let's see made in America.
    Military grade materials, durability reliability.
One year warranty, can buy an extended warranty.
After warranty is up can send it in for repairs if necessary.
    Excellent customer service......
Did I mention made in the USA

Thanks guys for all the much needed information. Can anyone point me in the right direction on the best device to put on top of my mod. Right now I have a protank 2 which I'm not all that happy with. I also have some Iclear 16's that I've been using which seem to have better taste than the Protank 2 but they leak.

You might like a carto tank. There are lots of different choices, and they all have their pros & cons.
