Provari or reo?!

do you like to drip and make your own coils???? get the REO,,,,,,

Plenty of people use over the counter atties like cisco on their reos, or the shorty cartos that reo and rtd sell.

Putting a carto into a tank and using in a provari is not going to have all that different taste as using a carto in a bottom feeder. It's a carto ---same delivery device.

Understand that people have been using REOs long before RBAs and rebuildable coils came out....for many years, in fact.


The reason I bring this up? Because some people may see "building your own coils and dripping" as a hassle......and vaping on a reo is probably the simplest most hassle-free vape there is, which is why it's so popular.

I just dont want to give the impression that one HAS to rebuild coils and have an RBA to use a reo cuz there are still many of us out there who don't.

I haven't been bowled over by a carto on a bottom-feeder. If I'm going to use cartos, I'd rather use a pretty tank. However, regular dripping attys on a Reo are brilliant! You're basically dripping upside down.

Good post. I've used store bought atties with a bottom feed. For cartos I prefer Kangers - bottom coil. Vertical coil cartos were not so good I found.The bottom coil cartomizers have always worked well for me though.

Personally I'd go with the provari if was looking to run cartos, carto tanks I think are a bit easier and portable, no need to squank, or feed, just fill n go. That being said if your going to wrap coils the reo is the way to go. There's nothing like a good bottom feeder.

Wrap coils or use a store bought atty.... First time I used an atty with bottom feed I thought I'd gone to heaven. It was a cheapy 2 ohm store bought from my local vendor too. Bottom coil cartos are pretty good though - juice hits the whole coil so no dry hits or burning. Try one with a bottom feed - not bad. For a bottom feed mod an atty is best tho, I agree on that.

Then it's down the rabbit hole from there! I run around 0.4ohm ish in my feeder and it's untouchable, but that's not the really what he's looking for, this thread has gotten a bit of track, need some feedback from the original poster..
What else do you wanna know, any other concerns?

Its quite an old thread that some-one revived because he sold his Provari and bought a Reo. Check out the OP date. I found the Reo stuff interesting because of the LP Reos that are out now. But I expect you've seen Tom's posts on that.

To me the thread wasn't relevant 5 months ago because the old Reo didn't work out for me. I bought the New Reo and have been very impressed with it. I was thinking about a making a thread about the REO Grand verse the Provari. Then I ran across this thread which had been revived and thought that it was relevant.

I bought a Provari because every VV unit prior to it had broken within a week to 3 months. I wanted the quality and the reliability of the Provari along with the warranty.

I re-bought a Reo because every Mechanical - Semi Mechanical and VV bottom Feeder that I had bought had also broken on me within 6 months and I felt the revamped Reo would suit my needs. It turned out that it did. I consider the Re-build Kit for $25.00 a warranty. The REO is simple enough to fix and when it gets old and the contacts are tarnished. Hey, I can gut it and rebuild it.

While not a 1-1 correlation my reasons for buying the Provari and the Reo Grand were similiar. To invest in an APV that I can use for many years and not always have to be replacing.

The LP version adds another dimension that I dont' need to take advantage of because I'm happy with my Reomizer 2. But for others the ability to drip on any Atomizer, RBA or use their favorite tank and then use it for bottom feeding on the road or when they feel like it is priceless.
