He guys, I just got a Provari a few weeks ago and have started to realize that sometimes when flipping through the voltages, it will skip a voltage. For example, when at 3.3 and want to go to 3.6, I go to power up, and then press the button once to get to 3.4 (wait a full second to make sure I am not pressing too fast), press again to get to 3.5 (wait a full second), then when I press it one last time, it fumbles through 3.6 and winds up at 3.7. This is just an example and happens at completely random intervals. Does this ever happen to anyone else? Maybe at these times, I am pressing it at a slightly different angle, and not straight on? I am not sure. But I made sure to assure myself that I am not holding in the button too long where it will start to flip through the voltages. I press firm, quick, and wait a second between each voltage when I test this. Sometimes it will not happen for a few hours. Then just happens out of nowhere. It's certainly not a big issue, just something that I would like to see if anyone else has experienced this.

Best place to ask this would be in the Provape forum, just scroll down the main page forever!

I have had my Provari for a week or two, I have noticed one instance of button press / display disparity. I put it down to switch bounce issues, perhaps the Provape guys' debounce needs a little work. I don't change voltage a lot though hence not much opportunity to observe the issue. I hope it's not going to become one down the road, I bought the two year warranty but don't fancy sending my Provari on a nine thousand mile round trip!

OMG EXEC! Yoooo, I was thinking the SAME THING. I did not even mention the times that I press down and it did not vape because I just assumed (like yourself) that it was me being light on the button, and not pushing down on it square. So you DO have voltage skips here and there also? I thought I had a defective unit, but if the voltage skips and misfires are a common random occurance, maybe there is no need of panic that my unit is deteriorating (I have no backup, so panic sets in very easily for me lol). I would really like to hear from additional owners of the Provari to see if they are subconciously keeping these factors quiet due to assumptions of "lazy finger" syndrome as exec mentioned. Made me really laugh, because the times it skipped voltages I assmed I was pressing the button on a weird angle. And the times it misfired, I assumed I was being light to the touch. But about 20 minutes ago I conducted a test. I purposely made myself have a lazy finger, being super light on the button press. And it was a hard task to press it light enough to not vape. The lightest touch (strong enough to be considered somewhat of a button press) did give a vape. This is making me wonder. I appreciate the feedback exec. This is very interesting. I am curious to see where this goes if a good amount of Provari owners chime in on this thread. How frequent are these things occurring for you?

I know when I click (scroll) too fast i can get all jammed up... it's hard for me to calm down and make "civilized" pulses like it's designed for.
I will over click (too many for desired function), or click too fast and overrun it.... if too fast, it will skip and seem like it's malfunctioning, but i've always chalked it up to user error.
I have 2 Vari's and their both the same.
Once in a while, quite often, i'll be taking shorter quicker vapes and find i've initiated the menu; be careful, you can find yourself in higher voltage than you want.
I also have my LED light turned off for clicks, to save batt.

I've had mine since last Dec. ... love 'em.

When doing some microcontroller work a few years ago I've learnt about pushbutton bouncing. That is for example when lifting your finger from a button it won't go on->off but instead on->off->on->off->on->off and stay off. There are some programming tricks to prevent this. Maybe the programming of the vari's controller in addition to a shaky finger will cause this (the bounce wait time is shorter than the actual bouncing of the button so it records some unwanted ton->off ransitions).
About the missfires, I push the button with my thumb, and sometimes after a second or two I tend to lighten the push, the red led goes out, the vapour stops. That's LFS :)
