I have just purchased my first provari mini yesterday and made a new silica wick + kanthal build on my atty. I noticed my provari showed a different ohm reading when I put a few drops of e-juice on my build. Without the e-juice (dry wick) I get a 1.6ohms reading and when I put 5 drops of e-juice I get 2.1ohms. Is this normal? If yes, which one is the correct ohm reading (dry or wet wick)? If both are correct, if I share my build to others which ohms should I share, the dry or wet ohm reading?

Sorry for my bad english.

Thanks.

what he said, the dry ohms is only importaint when first setting up the device to get a rough idea where to start the voltage settings and to know if it will short out or even run.

also your resistance will continue to rise as the coil gets juice and crud build up on it so if you want to share it should be before you have been using it awhile

had a coil at work the other day that was barely vaping at 3.4v so i decided to check ...was at 3.2ohms, lol to myself and said maybe i should clean it it's a 1.8 ohm coil in there.

Be nice to know which atty you are using, can make a big difference in how to diagnose what's going on. Off the top of my head I would say to look for hot spots, or a loose first coil wrap. The reading should be the same with a new coil.

Now I am more confused. So it should be the same ohm, dry or wet? I am very careful when i coil the wick and sure that i have no hot spots. Maybe a loose wrap? But i tried it with a mesh+kantal wick and i am pretty sure I wrapped it tight with no hotspots. Still, i get different ohm reading for dry and wet wick. I tried with 2 diff attys and the results are still the same. I also found that as the wick starts to dry after a few vapes the ohm reading starts to go down. I will use my provari to check the attys I will use on my ego so i need to make sure I measured the ohm reading correctly to avoid short on my ego. Thanks for helping guys.
