Hi tyler5754, welcome to the forum. Just post away, ask your questions. There are hundreds of Provari users here that are ready and willing to answer pretty much any question you might have.

Just give us your setup and as much information as you can about the specifics of the issue and any trouble-shooting you may have already tried. I (almost) guarantee you that someone can help here.

Ok I have a provari with a bonita tank I've been using them for over a year and it keep burning out my automizer every couple days I got one with two holes punched thinking more juice could flow didn't help then got an auto mixed with four holes did the same thing I dry hit it first prime it on 3.0 for the first hour then slowly go up two till I get to 38 then it tats burnt they told me this automizer can handle up to 4.4 it's the best one they have I've told them my problem but this is the fourth time they just told me I was using the wrong automizer for the strength I like

The cape store said it was a 3 ohm automizer has four holes punched in it I had a vision spinner before this provari for the last year same tank and I vamped on the max 4.8 all day long and never tasted burnt I changed the automizer every other Sunday just so I could know how long it's been on could have went longer but didmit just for my own good now I've gone through about 6 in the two week I've has the provari and it does his smooth a lot more than the vision spinner just can't seem to get good flavor after the first day I've been dripping a few drops in the auto just to keep it saturated enough to not burn and it's getting to be a pain that about all I've got for info i tried to put evey thing I know thanks

I use Kayfuns/Russians/Taifuns/Foggers usually. They are rebuildable atomizers and I rarely go over 4 volts. I think maybe you are trying to turn it up too high. If the company says it will Vape up to 4.4 volts that is if all variables are perfect. The right juice to handle high temps etc...

If you are wanting to Vape at higher volts you may need to invest in atomizers and juices deigned for higher volts. Some juices don't fair well at higher temps either.

I am far from any expert on cartomizers. I know many members here use them and will be able to suggest some good possible solutions.

In the meantime I'll ask, can you post up what resistance the carto shows when you check on the provari and if you could tell us a little more about the juice you are using - mainly does this happen with every juice you use, or just certain ones.

Sorry I can't help much more, I've only used cartos a few times but I do know there are many experts here that use them successfully.

IMO this has nothing to do with the Provari, but much to do with the atty.

I believe the Bonita tank is a carto tank, correct? So when you say automizer, do you really mean cartomizer?

If this is the case, I'm not sure how much experience you have with cartos, so I'll just point you at: Baditude's Cartomizer Tank Setup Guide.

Once you prime a carto correctly its almost hard to make them go bad. Increase voltage until you get a slightly burnt vape then back down a bit. That's the most voltage you can put on that carto.

Hope this helps :)

I'm still trying to figure out if it's an atomizer you are using, as you would need to continue to drip juice on it as it dries out. Or a carto tank, as you were talking about number of holes punched in it. Until we figure out exactly what you are using, it is hard to help you.

ETA: Google is my friend. A Bonita tank is a carto tank much like a Bella or Lavatank.

With a carto tank, priming the carto is the most important step. Someone already gave you the link for bad's blog. I would refer to that first for how to prime. Many of us here, learned from him, including myself.

It's important to know what type of juice you are using, including PG/VG blend, as different types of cartos work best with different types.

Also, it's possible you just got a bad carto. Has this happened once? Or multiple times?

Chances are good that the original poster got a bad batch of cartos recently or unknowingly got a different resistance (ohm) carto from what he was using before. Always check the resistance of the coil (atomizer) in the carto after setting up the cartotank to validate it is the ohm you wanted to use. Sometimes the wrong resistance is accidently packaged or sold. Do not check resistance of a cartomizer prior to filling it with liquid -- the Provari checks resistance "under load" and can burn the wick if it is dry.

The last time I set up a cartotank I had three bad cartos right from the get-go (bad batch). Unusual, but it can happen.

That's about all I got until the OP returns with more details.

Re-read this again to try to find more clues to what's happening.

From what I gather, you've been using the same tank (Bonita cartotank) for over a year with no problems on a Vision Spinner. Now that you are using this tank with a Provari, you've developed an issue of a burnt taste after a day or so of use. Correct?

There's is no reason to have recently developed problems with the same tank just from switching from the Spinner to the Provari. Both are just the power source for the tank. Are you sure you know how to adjust the voltage on the Provari?

Five button clicks to get to the Power Up mode. Once in that mode, continue clicking the power button to round robin to the voltage you desire. Then wait a few seconds for the Provari to change from Power Up to the Use mode.

Yes I am sorry about that it's a carto. I do know the menu on the provari. I've been priming these things for my whole time vaping. I also have has the problem of a bad batch before witch is why I buy five at a time cause one may be bad.

I didn't know if I should punch more wholes to fix the problem of not saying saturated. The resistance is 2.0 on the one I have in now. And I'm at 3.3 and it's a little burnt tasting. I get that if I turn it down it won't but I would like to go to 4.5 just can't seem to get a carto that allows me to.

It sounds as if you havent primed the carto correctly from the outset and burned it....

or as others have pointed out you got a bad carto or batch of cartos.

A 2ohm carto should be able to handle 4.0-4.2 volts without tasting burnt.

If you burn one badly enough from the start by not priming the tank properly that taste will never go away and your only option is to drain the tank and try a new carto.

What blend juice are you using? Is it 50/50 pg/vg?

100 percent vg?

Something else entirely?

Also what brand of carto is it? Beleive it or not that can make a difference as well.

Batitude swears by Ikenvape platinums while Ive had great results with Smoketech cartos from Smoktek.com. (incidentally Smoketek is right around the corner from you)

3 holes in the right carto should be enough for all but the thickest of juices.

Also it could be the juice......some simply dont handle higher voltages well.

I'm not sure what kind it is it's just in a clear wrapper no name or marks on it the one I have now has four hole tried three and two I'm going to go change it now prime it the same way as the guy shows and see how it goes thanks for the help

Also I know it's not the juice because it's the only store that I've never had a problem with the juice and I've tried about 20 different brands from stores all around and online and this place has the best smoking juice I've tried thanks for the help

One more thing where can I order some cartons from or get them from other than the ones I've been using

More holes is not your problem.
First make sure you don't push the tank all the way down reducing or eliminating air flow. I had this problem when I first got my Provari.
After I got over my mad, the fix was easy. That tank was just a tad to long, so I put air slots on the bottom of it.

Next the Provari is not a magic wand, you can not suddenly use a topper at twice the voltage that it worked properly at on another PV.
The idea is to set the voltage where the taste is best, not where it starts to taste burnt. Right now mine is set at 4.2v with a 3 ohm carto in the tank. I don't think I have ever set it higher than 4.5v when using a carto tank.

These are the cartos I use, and the norm is for them to last for about 50-60ml of liquid.

    Vendor List for Pre-Punched Cartos

Everyone who uses cartomizers has their personal preference for cartomizer brand. I prefer Ikenvape. Others prefer either Smoktech or Boge. You'll have to try each brand to see which one YOU prefer.

Since you seem to be having some wicking issues (assuming that you are adequately "priming" your cartos), I recommend the following cartos which will have larger pre-made holes:

    Ikenvape Slotted Platinum S series

    Boge large-hole from Electronstix

Boge large laser-slotted cartos from Sure Vapes

    * This is assuming that you need 35mm length cartos for your tank.
