Does anyone have one of these? Been looking at them and wondered about the fit and finish....How does it look on the Provari ? Same kind of quality build?

Thought I could put the base on my Full sized Provari and turn it into a desk mod that would never tip over....

I just ordered two Tatroe rings over the weekend. I think their look is killer, and allows for some customization outside of the standard extension cap.

I'm up and about too much to have the Tatroe base, but if I were sitting stationary a majority of the day, I'd surely have one (or two!) :D

I will put it on my full size Provari for desk use....The base is definitely not for travel.....

I purchased two complete Tatroe base/extension sleeves for my regular and mini Provari's. The AGA T2's are rather top-heavy on the two Provari's; using the Tatroe base allows for a lower center of gravity and reduces the possibility of the units being accidentally tipped over.

Above is the base on the mini for 18350 battery.

Above is with 1 extension sleeve for an 18490 battery.

Above is with 2 extension sleeves for an 18650 battery.

Above is a closeup of the Tatroe base and two extension sleeves. Excellent fit and finish.

Well, my Tatroe rings showed up today.

I'm not quite sure what to think at this moment. I LOVE the looks and flexibility, but I gotta say, the threads sort of tickin me off!

The slightest little bit of Noaxlox left in the threads caused them to be inoperable. After spending 30mins cleaning every thread to near perfection and removing a little burr from an OD lead on one of the rings, everything went together like butter. I'd have to guess that the threads were turned to the high side of the tolerance. Id say that it was a tooling issue in the machining, but since both the ID and OD threads on both rings across both ProVari's AND their caps behaved the same way, its got to be the process itself. Word of advice: Shoot for the nominal! And a seamless fit between two rings isn't there either, threads clean or not. This DOES agitate me, because it isn't what I was expecting. Initial quality needs some work fellas!

Now that I'm done whining, they do look awesome! Can't be happier with the ability to customize the look! And there's no doubt that once these threads are "broken in", the fit problems will correct themselves.

I guess I shouldn't complain as the prices are reasonable, but I'm spoiled and grumpy about quality when I comes to anything for my ProVari's :D

My ring/base arrived today also, something wrong with your set... Mine fits like a glove-smooth thread operation, Noalox and all, seemless look too...
It would take an earthquake for it to tip over now:evil:Would I buy one again? Mabey not....its a just gimmick IMO

You might see it in the classifieds in a few days for a discounted price..........

I've been sitting here running the threads while I watch the tube, and they're getting nice and smooth.

Would I buy them again? Yes, I would. Do I still expect perfect quality? Yes, I do!

so you think the 2 section seam where the 2 join will look better after threads are broken in or just the way it threads on there. I was assuming it would be less noticeable of that middle seam. I wonder if you can call them and tell them you are doing 2 together on a mini they would machine togehter for a tighter fit. Doubtful but a possibility, I'm looking for 2 to be able to run mini in 18650 as well.

I got 1, it's a great accessory and is piece-of-mind at the office desk. No longer worried about tip over with high end atty atop. Definitely not something that travels well.
Now about the threads, very poor quality. Even after using a thread file i managed to only get this to work on 1 of my 3 Provari's. Was tempted to send back but don't need the hassle. Kind of a shame 'cause if the QC was their I'd buy another. 1 for home. 1 for office. Just too heavy to pack around.

The threads being broken in wont effect the seam at all. That seem is so noticeable because of edge-breaks on the rings themselves to keep them from being "sharp".

I don't know if they do "special requests" or not, but Chris at Cigtechs had been awesome to deal with!

I must of got a good set because my threads are smooth as butter...I dont know if thats telling me to keep it? I will say my Provari is tip over proof with the base attached...
I dont know how much I will use it? It might be in the classifieds soon at a cheap price...

I'm extremely happy with my two sets. Threading is comparable to Provape's, IMO. Seam between the two sleeves is fine. Seam between a sleeve and base excellent. Seam between a sleeve and a Provari end cap, just so-so.

The bases go on both of my Provari's as soon as I get home along with the AGA's (see previous pics). Excellent investment IMO.

I own 1 sleeve that i purchased a few weeks ago for my provari and it is smooth like butter.

I order one last week for my other Provari and its now Thursday? ( it shipped out Friday ) and it still isnt here?!?!?

Funny part is? I am also in IL, Cigtech is about an hour from me and a week later still nothing?

Hopefully my 2nd one ( if it ever arrives ) is as smooth as my 1st one.

Ok! I got the "ok" to send mine back and wait to exchange it with a polished one when they are released.

BUT...I have a question. What is the finish like? Its a polished stainless steel? So does it resemble chrome? I honestly hate chrome ( chrome SB, AGA-T, protank, etc ) I prefer a stainless look or a raw look. I know there is no finish on these but does a polish SS look almost like chrome? If so, I might not swap my white one out. If its more a stainless look like the Zmax, THEN i would love one! Judging from the only pic i can find, It looks more like a chrome?

Can anyone confirm?
