In all fairness, I've never played with a Provari. I have an eVic and I'm extremely happy with. I also have a zmax and a vamo but never pick them up. For now, the eVic is all I need.

I love the firmware aspect. I'm a geek to begin with but it the firmware and usb connection are pretty nice.

There are going to be a lot of people chiming in to get a Provari. From my vantage point, I'm not sure you could go wrong either way.

A silver Provari with the stock LED color, beauty ring and extension cap is going to put you really close to $200. If you go with a different color, add in a blue or green LED you are looking at around $235, with extension cap and beauty ring. For that you are really close to the price of a DNA20 device. I'd buy the DNA20 device, you can fire toppers as low as .5 ohms, and it can put out up to 20 watts, and has an oled display that displays loads of information. But that's just me. If you want a Provari buy a Provari, the build quality is superb and people that have them seem to love them.

If you all ready have a VV/VW device getting an EVIC isn't going to be much of an upgrade, you are just going to get a few bells and whistles and the ability to track how you use it over the course of the day. But if you all ready have a zmax or something like that the performance increase is going to be rather negligible.

There is simply NO competition. The eVic is far too expensive. It is fragile and they break. Once they break, Joyetech will NOT honour any warranty claim on wiring and that is the most common fault.
In the UK, you can get a Provari for £160. If you get an eVic from an authorised vendor, it will be £99.99.
If you want VV/VW, toys and gadgets, then there are plenty of choices....nothing quite as absorbing as an eVic, but less money.

If I could turn back time, I'd never have bought an eVic.....

Yes, I'm cross about it. It was decent enough value for 5 months service (used 50% of the time) but still not a wise investment.

Call me an eVic fan (it was the device that rewarded me with ditching smokes after 30 years).

I enjoy the eVic so much ... I just bought this second eVic with a shorty 18350 battery tube as my backup.

Starting over ... I wouldn't change anything :2cool:

It's true what you say about the DNA 20 vs the Provari, but not all of us want a box mod and just now NDA 20's are coming out as tube mods.

Basically you have a Chinese-made mod and an American-made mod. Does that make a difference? Let me explain:

The Evic is a relatively fragile mod which may or may not survive its first accidental fall onto the ground. I don't care how careful you are with your mods, accidents happen. I'm not sure what the Evic's warranty covers, but I can assure you that an Evic can not be repaired after warranty. China manufacturers do not do repairs of any sort; they expect you to purchase another mod.

The durability of the Provari is legendary. It is made from a solid block of stainless steel, American made and assembled. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/provape/289525-provari-made-usa.html The Provari is 98% US made parts.

It will survive nearly anything that you can throw at it outside of a lawn mower blade. It comes with a 1 year warranty. You get the option to purchase a second year at the time of purchase. Any required repairs and return shipping costs are covered by Provape. After warranty, Provape will continue to service the Provari for minimal parts fees for as long as you own it. Typical repair turnaround is one week.

The ProVape Team Interview

So, you have a fragile foreign-made mod whose manufacturer does not offer repair service after warranty, and you have a durable US-made mod whose manufacturer offers lifetime service for as long as you own the mod.

I think its a no brainer, as I haven't even gone into other options such as the Accuset Technology of the Provari chip. It doesn't have VW, but this is an option that is not necessarily needed. People who own Provari's own them because of the dependability, consistancy, reliability, durability, repairability, and the customer service.

Many people here knows i was a provari hater (without having one) i was happy with my evic. I just want to give a try on provari and ordered one polished red led $179 18500 version. Now my evic was sold couple of days back Provari hands down its the best , no comparation here, my first battery was a perfect vape all the way till 3.2v,

Evics looks cool, but i hate the toyish feel and rattle of all buttons, the usb i did used once and was only to setup my name, the fact is we want a solid constant vape, not a toyish geek for vape

I'd say futura, but they're never available. I'd say make a choice between semovar and provari. A lot of Chinese pvs don't feel like they're from china, but the evic definitely has that cheap feel.

Semovar-fully modular, minimalist look, flat DC-DC..no pwm, full kit comes with 350, 490(?), and 650 battery tubes, hybrid adapter for kayfun3.1, removable 510 connectors (a few different size caps available to look flush with atomizer), adjustable battery contact, and svoemesto does right by their products (they had problems with first release of 3rd edition. They took them off distribution until the issues were resolved), 1 year warranty, but after that, you can easily fix any problem yourself if you know how..I haven't heard on how long it takes to get repaired. VW/VV... big whoop..as long as it's variable. Very durable.

Provari- there's a reason they are the most known APV.. especially in US, LED screen very resistant to liquid(user error), high frequency PWM.. no drop in output until it's dead either, 1 year warranty, repairs are cheap and quick, very durable.. one person on ECF had one that almost held up against a lawnmower..not really, but put up a good fight:).

I should go on a little more with the provari, but if it hadn't been covered yet, it will.

i dropped mine 2 stories,,it landed and the tank and busted that all to pieces ,the 18650 momentum knocked the board loose ,,it still worked but i had to look at the LED at an angle to see it ..fixed for free

Plus one on this....... (but havent experienced the Futura...no opinion)

Evic vs ProVari....... no contest......ProVari Wins

Semovar Vs ProVari......... good contest...... I have both and love them both.

Good luck on your decision.

I am a computer geek and like others rewarded myself after 1 month analog free and 5 months later still love my EVic.

It's fell off my coffee table and kitchen table no problems. The v2 build us more solid and great device if you want custom made vape modes, vv, vw, and few other features. Stealth and counter. I don't mind the counter, but go back and forth to my mech for some rda cloud vaping.

The firmware is getting better and looking to see what else they can add.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NOT BUY THE EVIC!!!! I had the joyetech evic for a total of two days, it was standing upright and someone nudged the table and when it tipped over and fell onto the table the top half popped off cracking the plastic and cracking the screen. The weight from the tank was evidently enough to pull the wiring soldered to the board completely out. After contacting customer service about the issue, they informed me that damage incurred wasn't covered by warranty. Total waste of money, cheaply made from cheap materials. I have a vamo v3 that was knocked from my hand, slid across the floor, and smacked into the wall and it still works like a champ. To have a $100 unit simply tip over and break is just unacceptable.

I have 3 ProVaris, and many other devices. At least 1 of the ProVaris is used every day. I have not one single complaint about them. It just works, all of the time, even after I dropped one on concrete recently.

I do not own an Evic. I did try one once with sampling juice at a vape shop (I knew the owner, that's what she gave me to sample with). I felt that it was cheaply made and I would be afraid to drop it. I'm a computer geek, but really software has nothing to do with my vaping experience.
