Is the Provari really worth the price? I love my MVP 2. It appears to do everything the Provari does, and was $40 with a built in battery that goes 2 days for a heavy vaper. Just not sure why they charge so much for that thing? Is it like a BMW where you are getting superior quality, or is it like a designer handbag, where you basically can say you have a designer handbag?

Check out the Provari section. American made, great customer service (I've already dealt with them), cheap repairs, good durability, tons of good reviews, etc.

Get the Mini with their end cap with 2 18350 and 2 18490 batteries...without a doubt! I debated for weeks and am glad I got the mini. I am 6'2" and 240lbs (I want to think all muscle) with big hands. I work from home and puff all day on the 18490 battery. Seriously, I chain vape all day. By 10pm, I get bored and go to the bar. I tried pretending that I would go out with one of my cheaper setups then realized it was a lie so I would pop the smaller battery in the Provari without the cap and it totally made a difference in the "Discrete" department.

People here will say that they need the 18650 battery in the regular sized Provari but I literally vape all day with the 18490's with a spare. If you really NEED the bigger battery, you can get a cap for it with the Mini but the regular size can't get smaller.

Mini all the way!

I am 5Feet 2inch & weigh 52kg, sorry but don't know in *merican* what that is
I have small hands and find at times my itaste MVP's quite heavy.

The one on the left is a mini with a standard cap and the one on the right is a full-size with a standard cap. Keep in mind that you can make a mini bigger, but you can't make a full-size smaller.

Or you can look at it another way. With the mini you are forced into 18350 or w/extension cap, 18490. Neither of which might last you all day.

With full size, you have 18490 or 18650, one of which might last you all day and the other definitely will. ;)

I guess it depends on how much you like to put batts on the charger, and/or how many batts you're willing to purchase in order NOT to do that.

Let's put it this way. In approximately 4 to 8 months+/- your MVP battery is going to die and you'll have an attractive paperweight. ;) Provaris have a similar vape, yet have been dropped out of multi-story windows, run over by cars and thrown at walls yet still keep on working. They may not be the slickest looking mod on the market, but they're dependable and last many years. :)

How important is battery life to you. The mini is smaller but I believe only by 1/2". But obviously has less battery life.

I went with the Mini, because I value portability. You can always buy more batteries. You can't make your mod smaller. You can however get the extension cap if necessary.

Perfectly put ^^^^^ :toast:

I would only add this:

It is the most accurate device on the market as well. The voltage you set it to is PRECISELY what you get, regardless of the remaining charge of the battery. I have tested my ProVari many times versus my Fluke 333 True RMS meter, and the difference between output voltage and the setting I have is measured in hundredths of volts. It is always accurate to within 1/2%. The Semovar is reportedly close to this same accuracy, but I have not tested this mod...yet.

I have tested my ProVari against an eVic, a Vamo, and a Lavatube. All of them were much less accurate. All of the other mods lose voltage output as the battery wanes.

Having said all of that, the MVP is a good value for the price. But there certainly is a reason for the price difference.

EDIT: I almost forgot! I would recommend one of each, the mini and the full size ProVari.

I own a standard size Provari, a mini Provari, and an MVP. All three are excellent mods that I use on a daily basis. The MVP is ultimately a disposable mod; the built-in battery will eventually die. And although it is of a sturdy build quality, it can't compare to the quality of a Provari. Provari's are built like tanks.

The Provari is a LONG TERM mod. It comes with a 1 year warranty, and then will still have lifetime repair support by Provape who will repair for very reasonable fees. Only the replaceable batteries need to be replaced, the mod itself will last many, many years.

I use my standard size mostly for home. The mini gets used both at home and out of the house. I recommend eventually getting both a standard and a mini.

Heads up for prospective ProVari owners

The ProVari does not have a puff light that glows at the end of it. This means that sophisticated people at parties and urban hipsters at social events will not be able to easily recognize you. But hey, we'll still luv ya.

Perhaps ProVari 3.0 will have a little more street creed.

Posted while under the influence of a very fine vape.
