i have a provari and a zap that im using 32 ga and ss mesh. im using 18350 and 18490 batterys and im getting really short battery live. i have a 2/3 wrap its coming out to about 1.6 ohms. i get maybe 2-3 hrs max out of the 18350 battery and maybe 3-4 out of the 490.. im runnin at 4 volts.. is this normal? if not what do i need to do different?

I just got a ZAP recently and my 18350 batteries are draining out after about 3-4 hours of heavy use. My coil is wrapped differently than yours (2.3 ohms - 5/6?), though. Fortunately, I have three 18350 batteries so I always have two charged and ready to go. That said, I am planning on getting the extender cap to accommodate larger batteries now.

This is why I didn't get a mini. It's not that much smaller than the standard and the 14900 batt lasts longer. I use 32g and 5+ wraps to get higher resistance and use a higher voltage. 3ohms at 5v gives much better batt life (for me) than say..1.7ohms at 3.7v. I vape right around 8w. Right now the stock coil on my zap is 1.7v, when I wrap my own coil, I'm going to shoot much higher.

This is the trade off involved in using genesis type units. We are generally vaping them at higher wattages than we vaped conventional, soft wicked cartomizers and clearomizers. The higher wattage results in higher amperage draws, resulting in shorter battery duration between charges. I used to use 18350s all the time, with CE2s, Vivi Novas, and CE3s. I rarely do anymore, since going exclusively to gennys. The smallest I use is 18490s; and more generally, 18650s.
