Got mine yesterday, spent all day testing the 30 different cartomizer and atomizer types me and my wife have tried since we started vaping. ALL of them, after a bit of voltage tweeking, can be perfect. I figured I would hover between 5 and 6 volts on HV cartomizers, but I was wrong. One hell of an added bonus if you ask me: my entire stock is now vapable. Provari just paid for itself.

I started experiments last night with mixing up lower nic juice, and pumping the volts up to maintain good throat hit. I'm down to 10 MG from my usual 26 mg. Very happy I'm able to do this, and make my already cheap DIY juice even cheaper.

The built in protection is FANTASTIC. When im not paying attention, and run a cartomizer low, boom, a fault hits and unit turns off. This is how I normally burn up a carto, taking a big hit not realizing it is low and burning it up. Not anymore, provari kicks a fault for over amperage.

Cleaning atomizers? LOL, not a problem either anymore. 5v passthrough used to work fine for cleaning, but 6v burn (with overamp protection) is the ticket now. Was even able to take the rubber grommets out of a few of my CE2R4s and dry burn them also.

Its made of stainless steel. I've always been a fan of function over form and my only limits were the box mods. Just absolutely refuse to vape out of a box and look like some jacked up med patient. I'm out and about a lot, and deal with the public all day long. Everyone is impressed with this thing and it's construction. I'm a full line automotive tech, and I'm not sure if anyone else can abuse a PV as hard as I can. They get thrown into my tool box, dropped out of my pocket and down engine compartments, slammed into the floor when I'm setting lifts... you get the point. I know its not indestructible, but at least I don't feel like I have to keep it protected in a pink fanny pack.

As stated before, we have an insane collection of atomizers and cartomizers around here. I was trying to keep them all labeled, but they still get mixed up. Especially when I throw 5 different ones in my pocket and take them to work. Now I just screw them on, and test the ohms on them. I dont have to bust out my ohm meter anymore, I do it with the provari.

The digital display on the thing is so bright, you could use it as a signal flare if you were drowning in the ocean. Definately no problems seeing it anyplace any time, and its off by default untill you go to changing settings. The display is not at the edge of the unit, a thick piece of plastic is the actual protection mechanism. This is another added bonus to the construction of the unit, it can take a hit unlike an exposed screeen that can be busted just by pressing on it with your thumb.

1 battery runs this thing! 6 volts out of a unit this small on one battery ! I can't remember where I read about batteries exploding and knocking someone's teeth out. I think it was just a suppliers warning to buy his "fuse" for his unit. Provari already has over amp protection built it. In any event, I think about that when I'm vaping, especially at higher voltages. I DO NOT want some china batteries built in circuit protection failing on a big battery pack and venting into my face. Provari has a HUGE vent whole in the BOTTOM of the unit to vent with if that one battery pops. And only 1 battery is going to go if it does.

I was a big fan of full mechanical units until the botton fell off my Screwdriver MKII in my pocket one day, and it stuck on. It burned through my shirt and into my chest before I could get out from underneath the car and rip it out of my pocket. All of you screwdriver owners know exactly what im talking about! It's nice to have some digital protections built into my PV now. Provari has all the bases covered for that.

Provape as a company is increadible. I wasn't given a "free sample" to try or review their product. I sat and waited for 2 weeks for it to be made and shipped. I emailed them after I was sold on the idea, and asked: "Can I pay more and get bumped to the top of the shipping list?" I didn't care about price at that point. You already know their reply.... a resounding NO based on moral reasons. They refused to allow me to cheat and jump the list for money. Do any of you know another company that would pass on a chance to double their money on a product? We are stuck in an industry that is trying their best to lock us into proprietary batteries, atomizers, and other parts so they can make MORE money. Provari is just making a good product, as fast as they can.

Only con to this unit is battery life. Even that can be debated. I normally vape over 6ml a day. Yesterday I vaped so much testing everything that I came down with an insane headache. I smoked 3 packs a day before I quit, and my nic tollerance is way up there. I killed the batteries 2x over , haha. They charge fast though on the charger I bought from Provape and it can charge 2 batteries at a time. Since the charger fits both the small batteries and the large, I went ahead and bought 2 of the big batteries and an extender cap last night. If I can learn to stay off 6 volts, I'm sure I wouldnt need 1600mah bats. At least the battery is a common size, and easy to get more.

I'm not even sure how to adress the price issue. I think it depends on your perspective. I studied for months on this forum before we bought our first PV. We spent $80 on an ego before we know that suppliers where buying a lot of the same units and rebranding them and advertising they had something special.... I have 5 egos from china right now for friends that I paid $17 a piece for from china. Live and learn. We payed over $100 for the screwdriver MKII that burned me. 5v passthroughs, 2 kranger units, and then a bunch of adapters to try all these different atomizers and cartomizers that are so "great". We started out just like everyone else, and we spent a ton. Great for the 12 differnt suppliers we bought from, bad for us. So the $200 I spent on the provari is nothing, compared to the money I wasted that will just sit on the shelf. Will order the wifey a unit tommorow, and be done with all the PV/atomizer/cartomizer/tank mod/flavor mix hoping.

Hope this was informative!

Thanks for the review! I have been seriously thinking about ordering the Provari since the scare of a possible ban on the sales of ecigs I want to have something that uses regular batteries, however I am not finding these particular batteries very easily on the net other than e-cig suppliers- maybe I'm not looking in the right places?? I have a lot of 808D-1 cartos - do you have any issues with using an adapter for the 808's? Have you tried the new clear CE2's on the Provari?

I really like the digital read out function and the atty ohm checker function.

TIA for answering my questions!

Thanks for the review!

I agree with everything you said about the ProVari...the PV kicks donkey ....!!!

I disagree with you about the box mods...they have their place & many are works of usable art!

ProVape IS an incredible company!
I would recommend them to anyone...anytime...anywhere!

No problems with any of my adapters. Yes, before the provari, the XL CE2R4s were my favorite cartomizers to use. Thing about them though is that they perform best at lower volts. Mine are all 2.6-2.8 ohm atm, and they do NOT like being cranked over 4volts on my current daily vape. The clear ones are all busted, the poly tube is extremely weak, so with my second order of them, I ordered the regular metal ones.

Can you turn it off so it doesn't pocket fire? Also, does the button click or is it one of those non clicking button things.

BTW, Nice firebird in the background. Had to sell mine before I came overseas. '98 formula WS6 clone M6. I will regret that for the rest of my life. put down 463RWHP on a dynojet with heads and cam.... God I miss it.

You can turn it off so it doesn't fire.

The button doesn't "click", but there is a definite feel when you push it. It's not a totally soft button.

Turning it off for pocket firing, hmm havn't checked. I do keep mine in my pocket most the time, i dont think i have seen my pocket smoking at any point in time.

Thanks for the compliments on the bird. I have turned wrenches all of my life, and always driven trans ams. This last Ws6 I bought new, and will never sell it. 8) 438 rwhp will STS rear mount turbo set at 6 psi. 26mpg with the 6speed. 4 years now on the turbo, and no mechanical problems once so ever. Drive it every day, rain or shine. I can justify my baby as a daily driver just because of gas mileage. AND IT DOESNT SMELL LIKE AN ASHTRAY ANYMORE !!!!

I am psyched to get my Provari now that I have read some reviews. I should have it next week! Got my ship notice today!

As to cars, I have a 1969 Chevelle SS396 that I am restoring right now. All is on hold til I can save some pennies to move on.(just went thru a divorce) I do love the old muscle cars! The new ones look pretty but beauty is only skin deep with them...(all the electronics nowadays!!!!)
My '69 has the 396cu.in. that I will keep fairly mild. I have low compression heads so I can run pump gas.( I hope to get around 300 HP and will be happy with that. I love the big block rumble in the exhaust) Has the muncie 4 speed. It may be a while but it will be nice when done!

This is one of the next PV's I'm potentially planning to purchase. I went to the SCVC vape meet two weeks ago and hammdaman brought the provari to test out. Two reviewers, the crator of the map tank, and a elixirtv host agreed that the construction is awesome as well as the circuitry inside. The feature where it prevents burning your atties is also a plus. One con is that the base of the atty connector doesnt have a trough, so you're not sure if eliquid seeped through if you overdripped or if the atty leaked. As for battery life, I would have to test that as well..it is confirmed that 2 CR123s stacked will not work. But overall, this PV is well constructed and worth the price.

Thanks for the review, it just solidifies the decision I made this morning to order one.

According to the manual if you click it through on the display to Po, wait 2 seconds, then press it to off, it will not fire the atomizer until you turn Po to On again. I like that feature.

Also the Atomizer thing, I don't have an Ohm reader, and I have a buncha mixed and matched atomizers I can't wait to identify!

I liked my ProVari so much, I ordered second one. The second one is for my sister. We re planning a trip in two weeks and will be on the road for 12 hours. I have a MapTank, so with that filled, I figure I will be good for the whole trip. I will give the second one to my sister, as a passenger, she will have to drip, unless the MapTanks become available soon.
