It's not only a variable voltage pv... it is a Variable "Regulated Power" PV...meaning it has a computer chip that regulates the power so that every time you push the button, the voltage is regulated to stay consistent to the set voltage no matter what stage of discharge the battery is in.
it comes with a 1 year warranty that you can believe in.
It's a variable voltage mod....meaning you can set it to allow you to vape at different voltage ratings (eg. 3.7, 4.0, 4.2 and so on). You can choose to use a variety of battery sizes (eg. 18650).

All the info is in the link I provided.
It really depends on what options you decide to go for and if you're lucky enough to escape tax.
I'd say it'll probably run you anywhere between RM550 to RM750.

I've tried the provari before and it's gorgeousness is unfathomable... Even the button felt expensive. But if I'm going hi-tech I be looking at Darwin for it's variable Watt instead since that's what matters at least for me :)

You gotta take another thing into consideration....the Darwin has a built-in battery that's not user replaceable, which means you gotta send it back all the way to the US, paying postage both ways, to get it replaced. Not a problem with the Provari, though. Take your pick.

If you know you want that (variable watts) then go for it...
You might want to read both threads here: the Provari one and the Darwin.. the main ones..
the first week they each came out you will see a lot of responses to each ... get a birds eye view of what you will be getting if you want to ...

THIS is the main reason why I'd buy a Provari over a Darwin.

International shipping can be really iffy at times and I'd hate to run the risk of losing a PV simply because a component needed to be fixed/replaced.

Unless you know how to use a soldering iron.

Even with 3000 mAh batteries (have extender for the 18650), I occasionally find myself with a battery that has run down in the middle of the day. I just get forgetful. With my ProVari, all one needs to do is toss in another battery. After my experiences with Ego's and Riva's, I will never again buy another unit where the battery is not easily replaceable or where the whole unit needs to go on the charger.

Could someone explain the real advantage of constant wattage over constant voltage? In a regulated device like the ProVari is not regulated wattage almost the same as regulated voltage?Ohm's Law still applies to both: E=IR. Obviously wattage is a function of both resistance and voltage, and the Darwin controls wattage. The ProVari only voltage, and attys/cartos will change resistance during use.

And there will be differences in resistance from one atty or carto to another; but with either unit, we are going to play with the voltage/wattage setting to get the vape we want, cooler or hotter for a particular juice/atty/carto combination. Practically, I do not see much difference; although I would have the give the edge to the Darwin in this area.

I love my ProVari, obviously. Great CS by the way! I had an issue with my window and was back vaping within a week. Again, I will take a swipe at Vaprlife with their joke of a unit the Joker. It took them a week just to get back to me with a first response on a DOA unit. The story gets worse, but the response time alone is enough to qualify them as a garbage supplier. Before any of the Joker VV fans go after me again, I will gladly document the entire incident.

As far as the Darwin vs the ProVari is concerned, they are both great units with high tech but useful features and backed by good CS. Each will have its advantages. They are both the top dogs in VV right now with everyone else a distant second. The choice, in the end, will be a question of personal taste. You will have to select what features and design are important to you.

I have a Buzz as well. It's a good, solid unit with good support and costs a lot less than either Darwin or ProVari; but, it lacks performance and features. There is, as far as I know, a new one on the drawing boards.

I used to hear that same argument of why the iPhone/iPad would never be popular. No replaceable battery. Also from what I have read the Darwin battery last all day as the Provari almost requires you swap it out if you are vaping all day.

I do not forget to put my ecig on a charger any more than I would forget to put my phone on the charger. I actually have a Droid X with a replaceable battery and a spare. Still have not used it but it is a good security blanket I suppose. But not a factor at all for me.
