ok.....I have been vaping on and off for almost a year....but only full time NO Analogs at all since Feb......I have had psoriasis for about a year also and can't help wondering if it is from either too much PG or VG. I have many different ratios going 50/50 70/30 65/35.... so was wondering if anybody has any experience with this skin disorder and if I should lean toward more PG or VG ?
I haven't used one ratio long enough at any given time to see and changes......any help is appreciated.
Saw a post on some other blog when I googled and it said VG causes psoriasis ......which I can't dispute cuz I just plain don't know.
Advise if you have anything that can steer me in the right direction.

Hi, my boyfriend has severe psoriasis and is easily triggered. He has been vaping for about 1.5 months and no change other than his normal "winter weather" breakouts. He usually vapes 70/30 and some 50/50.

There isn't a known cause for psoriasis but there are certain things that can trigger it for some people. (Dry weather, lack of sun, alcohol, stress, etc).

I agree with Legosaurus's comment. I've noticed no change in my condition even though I hadn't smoked for two years before I started vaping. I used to vape 100VG and later went to various mixes containing PG. I've been a vaping for almost a year now.
I have noticed that certain flavors if concentrated enough can irritate the skin a bit. I couldn't say which exactly as I have about 180 of them.

Correction: I recall some citrus based flavors irritating my skin.

This is pretty interesting.

I've never had Psoriasis in my life but got it about a year ago. I've been vaping about 2 years. I vape 80pg/20vg. I have chest issues with high VG. If it is from VG, I'll go to 100%. I have a small patch near my ankle but it's gotten bigger and it's driving me crazy. I've gone to two doctors and a dermatologist and it doesn't seem to get much better regardless of what they give me.

I really think that the PG possibly is part of the culprit.....after reading some posts on other sites.....but can't confirm.
I am going to start sticking to one ratio for awhile and see what comes of it.
I have been to a skin doctor and even with the VERY expensive medications I still have outbreaks at certain times.....and doctor is confused too. Where I should be down to using meds 2-3 times a week, there are times I have to use it daily for weeks at a time.

I know this is way off topic: I have found that ingesting Bragg's apple cider vinegar (or any vinegar with "the mother" as they say)as well as topical application has made my psoriasis much more bearable for me. Not on any open lesions of course! That really burns. It really helped me with itching/irritation. Since psoriasis has multiple causes, this may or may not work for everyone.

Psoriasis is hereditary. It is an autoimmune disorder. My husband has it and so does his mom. My son was born with a small spot of it on his scalp but no outbreaks to date. My husband never had an issue with it until he was in his mid 30s. He was in the garage working on our boat in the summer with the door open. He was eaten alive by mosquitos that night. That is what triggered it and he has had it ever since. Psoriasis will go into remission and thankfully he has been in remission for several years. He had the skin plaques heavily on his arms, hands and legs.

We have both been vaping for 3 years now and the PG/VG has had zero effect on his Psoriasis.
Psoriasis plaques are caused by your immune system attacking healthy skin cells. Your skin actually sloughs off and regenerates at a much faster pace than normal.

I hope that helped you and good luck!

Did you know that this is one of the only things that dermatologists will tell you to go to a tanning bed for? It helps tremendously with the skin plaques. By damaging the skin just a little, it helps stop the skin from regenerating so quickly. The sun will work as well.

That small spot is always how it starts out. You just never know when it will get full blown :( In severe cases, a dermatologist will offer injections of RA drugs but, they make it very risky for infections. My husband used Embrel for about a year and while it did clear up the plaques, he did end up with a very bad infection. Folks that have Psoriasis already have an altered immune system so risking anything like that should be a very last resort IMO

I think I remember how it started with me, but I'm really not sure if this was the cause.

I was doing a lot of yard work and I got blisters on my hands. The blisters seem to not heal all the way and they would seem to open up and bleed. Very painful. After they healed I'd somhow get breakouts again where I had the blisters and then I noticed I'd also get a patch on my leg. When I'd get it one place, I'd always get it in the other place.

I was given three different very expensive creams. The only thing that helped was a last resort I read about on the internet.
I cleaned the area on my ankle very good, applied some cream and wrapped it in Saran Wrap. I did this for about 3-4 days and it did go away.

different people have different triggers and as salemgold said it is hereditary and not something you will get from an external source, they are just triggers.
3 common triggers that i get are with stress, if a day I drink moderately to heavily which is rare the next day I begin to see symptoms, this is due that a lot of alcohol lowers your differences. and the third is sickness for the same reasons of the alcohol.

drink a lot of water, dehydratation causes dry skin and it is also a strong trigger
