:confused: I'm thinking on getting a device with a puff counter.
-> Help Needed! <-
Are you using it ?
Is it helping you and how ?
Need your input!

My eVic has a counter and actually a few other features that some might find useful, I really do not consider the counter useful at this point because I am not using the device exclusively, I am however happy with my eVic...

Other than the occasional wow, I hit that hard that day, meh...

Hope this helps :)

What exactally do you need help with? It's a stupid puff counter. I have one on my evic. Look at it if you want, ignore it if you want. Do you really need someone to tell you that?

It one of those unnecessary but could be cool to some people things. I could see a few benefits. seeing how many puffs are in a tank. Seeing if you get more puffs from different ratios of juice. Monitoring how many puffs you get from a full charged battery. Monitoring weather cold causes you to get less puffs from a full charged battery. Lots of things could be applied to the information but it has nothing what so ever to do with the performance of anything.

I have an Evic. I don't pay attention to the puff counter. With the recent firmware upgrade, you can take it off the home screen. I'm displaying the wattage/voltage instead. It is part of the software, but like your computer - you may not use every piece of software on it or just occasionally glance at it. It may help those that might be wanting to limit their vaping each day or just satisfy a curiosity of how much you vape a day. It's up to you whether or not you choose to use it.

I personally wouldn't use one, I'm more interested in milliliters of liquid per day and making sure I don't ever want a cigarette.

I suppose if you used a metered amount of liquid and wanted to see the number of puffs in it for a variety of mixes, it may have some use there. I just know 1 ml of my favorite lasts about 3 hours.

I think its gimmicky ,like air conditioned car seats.

Or like an automatic transmission that lets you shift manually. I have one of those on my 1999 VW Passat. It's called Tiptronic. After playing with it for a few minutes, I've manually shifted the car about five times in 14 years, in every case to get the car rolling while on ice or snow.

And what constitutes a "puff"? Is it a quick toke or is it a long, drawn-out affair?

Didn't know that variable wattage (VW) existed back in 99 ....Just kidding :). I had a 03 volkswagen that had the same thing. I used it about 3 times. Even my 2013 came with this. I think in the future APV 's will tell your puff count, viscosity of juice ,and your horoscope.

Even my wife's 2012 Kia Soul, about the eighth cheapest car sold in America, came with a Tiptronic-type feature on the six-speed automatic. At least that feature was free -- all Kia six-speed automatics have that. And it even works better than my 1999 Passat's does: you can immediately shift it into second while at a dead stop.

I admit I've used it to get a better 0-60 mph time when I tested the Soul: letting the tranny shift itself, it's 8.5 seconds, but it's 7.5 seconds if you hold the car in gear! (Old gearhead here.)

After that: meh?
